In fact each of the 4 Slime series manga has its own mangaka and a unique style. To be fair, Slice of slime is the most different.

Consider Slime Diaries a supplementary series to the original series. It fills in certain details they can’t cover in the anime. And it gives a pleasant mood. Also, don’t skip past the ending because the previews are always entertaining. And also that wasn’t wine. That really was grape juice Treyni was serving to Rimuru.

Also YAY! for screentime for characters that get too little of it in the main series. :D As for the knife, that wasn't Shuna that overdid it, but Kurobe. He made the "regular" kitchenknife basically into something along the lines of a legendary artifact from being a bit overmotivated. ^^

I think I like the spin off even more than the original lol. The art style is just so adorable. Its wholesome. Light jokes. More in-depth on the characters. Town development. And it makes you understand that 2 years have passed from Slime S1E1 to Slime S2E12

Slime Diaries basically parallels the plot starting from after the Orc Disaster arc, but yeah, it is basically 100% wholesomeness compared to the main series. Certain events may still happen, but likely will be swept under the rug in favor of character development.

The art difference is due to the fact that the manga this is based off of is one of those 4 panel strip comedy mangas so they're attempting to to stay true to the art style of the strips. Thus the more "stylized" art is the result, that and the fact that everything will be for a gag of some sort.

This is the direct adaptation of the spin off manga of the same name. So they are animating the series with the same artstyle and character design that is present in the manga. And as a side note, the light novel which is the original source material (apart from the web novel), also has a different character design but that resembles more the tensura nikki one rather than S1 and S2.

Haruna is a goat'd Goblina. She's a consistently recurring character throughout all 18 volumes of LN. She is essentially Shuna's adjutant. Kurobee is dope and Rimuru hangs out with him pretty often. Lots of screen time for everyone in LN.

I think it's the only type of series that I don't want to waste my time on, so I will be watching it with AJ, and not in my own time before it like with other series. I watched 4 episodes already and there is nothing that ads to the story. It's like a filler arc but as a separate season.

Don't worry, Claymon is in this show too. as are the harlequin troop of magi. There is also some really... sad... scenes... (WELL sad if you think about them). But yes, this show will leave you in pain... toothaches from the sweetness, and sore cheeks from the smiling.

The character design is closer to the novel ones, while the main one is more closer to the main manga design Also the first session of Diaries happens completely between episodes 18 and 20, from when they defeat Orc Lord and agree on the Federation - with a few months passing in universe, to just around the battle with Charybdis and Milim leaving Also the Amine is based on a spin off manga of Slime of the same name

Unfortunately they never give Rigurd's subordinates/Rimuru's heads of state. Rogurd, Regurd, Rugurd, and Liliana/Ririana Their in anime at times although briefly when they are. The "R*gurds" are in charge of Legislation, Judicial, and Executive branches. Liliana in charge of the Production and Agriculture.
