Love to see that they care props to them hopefully more stuff like keyboard binds, macros and more importantly full rebind functionality of all buttons comes eventually, it would then be better then the elite on the software side of things for those stuck on Xbox without the ability to use wasd etc.

You can bind LSB and RSB on the Elite controllers to the paddles. This is useful when you run a tactical layout in shooters as you crouch typically by pressing RSB. Allows drop shotting to be easier. I was very surprised to see you can’t bind them on this controller. TB even shows on their site that you can. So not sure what’s going on but it’s annoying. I may return the controller for now.

The main reason I remap the click sticks (L3/R3) to the rear buttons is that I find them an ergonomic nightmare. We’re talking carpal tunnel syndrome. It’s just that pinching motion over and over is really not great on your hands especially over long gaming sessions. So I really want those sticks mapped to the back paddles since they’re more comfortable to hit. Additionally, sometimes they are hit by accident, but my main reason is comfort.

The ability to map the back buttons to L3/R3 is now available, but this is not reflected in the software on the PC. I did not check the console software. It is available to map through the screen on the controller. Firmware 1.0.4 is the firmware update you're looking for.

I use four rear buttons and also bind my RS and LS buttons to them. Being able to sprint mid strafes and able to keep my aim on target without accidental melees makes a difference. Works for me in Halo but not sure for other titles..

Had the first elite and I loved it. Never had an issue with it. So I bought the elite 2 a little over a year ago because I loved the idea of being able to increase the tension on the thumb sticks. But that elite 2 has been nothing but a headache. The “A”button actuated maybe 50% of the time. Sent it out twice under the warranty to get repaired and each time it came back worse than what I sent it in. Now the warranty is over and Microsoft refuses to fix them messing it up even more. I’m interested in this one because I like the back button layout as opposed to paddles. I’ll just buy tension rings for the thumbs sticks. As always you videos are simply amazing, very informative and funny asf. Keep up the amazing work!!

Elite series 2 is hands down the most comfortable controller I have ever used but the QC is absolutely horrible. Mine took well over 2 years before I had issues but it's definitely starting to show them now. My A button and rb are starting to act up. For 200 bucks they should last longer. Hopefully with the elite 3 they resolve the issues.

Sent it back and the “A” button still doesn’t work properly and now the “Y” and “B” are giving me the same issue. After months of back and forth with Microsoft the warranty period is over and I’m still with a $200 controller with 3 face buttons that don’t work the way they should. I take great care of my stuff. After 4 elite controllers and currently on a scuff envision, I have decided to use a paddle for Sprint since I claw and the left stick click tends to wear down pretty fast for games that don't have auto sprint. I saw the negative reviews regarding the Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra. But a year ago I saw the same negative reviews about the Elite Series 2 controller and I chose to roll the dice and purchase it anyway and a year later, it is still the best controller I have used thus far, I have not experienced any stick drift, and I am still on my first series x controller a year later still going strong . So I used the same logic I used last year and chose to roll the dice and purchase the Stealth Ultra yesterday and it got to my door step in less than 24 hours. The set up was not to bad. The stealth ultra is extremely light, it is a gorgeous controller. I will say that I wish they used a better grade of plastic when making this controller, it is not bad but it does not feel as premium as the elite series 2. I will say that even with some of the plastic not being premium, the controller is still very well built and still feels premium. It feels very comfortable in my hands. I had to put on the thumb caps for the analog sticks because of how small the analog sticks are. I have been playing with the Stealth Ultra for a few hours and so far so good. $200 is quite expensive but the controller is quite nice, I don’t have any regrets. Definitely worth atleast trying the controller out. I have been playing COD MW 3 for a few hours with this controller and I got to say that I am having a ball with this controller, it is so far a very nice controller. The only reason(s) I gave this controller a 4 instead of a 5 is because they used lower grade plastic for certain parts of the controller, the battery is not great, no magnetic analog replacements like the elite seires 2, and small analog sticks. Overall for now, I recommend this controller. Pros: 1. Good looks 2. Nice RGB Lighting 3. Can map controller using the screen on the controller 4. Controller is well built, mostly premium feel 5. Comfortable in my hand 6. Clicky mouse type buttons 7. Built in screen 8. Controller is very light 9. Comes with a nice case Cons: 1. Cost $200 2. Cheapy plastic for some of the controller 3. Battery life is not great 4. Tricky controller set up (manageable) 5. Analog cap replacement instead of magnetic analog stick replacement like elite series 2 6. Small analog stick Verdict: I recommend buying the controller and atleast trying it out for yourself.

I have broken the sticks while crafting in Monster Hunter World. When crafting, you hit the left bumper, point the right stick, and click it. So when you click it, you are clicking it while it is tipped in a direction. It puts a lot of stress on the joystick. It's why I mapped it to a paddle on my Series 2. I also use it in a lot of games to start running, which is sometimes a left stick click. So yeah, glad you mentioned it because this kills it for me.

You can work around not being able to map the stick clicks. Remap in game and use The d-pad and bind to those. For example, make down d-pad melee and map a paddle to that if you really wanted to

The thing I'm waiting for is to see what that screen can do with 3rd party apps. So far the screen doesn't really do anything I'm interested in. I use an Xbox headset so that won't be able to be adjusted with the controller (I think). Like you I don't want social media popping up while gaming. And once I setup all my remapped buttons and dead zones I'm not gonna mess with them again, which I can just change in the setting menu on the Xbox anyways. What I'm hoping to see is that the screen can be integrated into games, like maybe being able to see your inventory or something. As for the L3 and R3 not being remappable. I do like that feature when I was using my Elite Series 2 because like you stated, I use one of the back paddle as my melee button and the other as my sprint. Now I know this is a very specific nitpick but when thumbstick are pushed to full lock, because you are clicking the stick at an angle it can be harder to consistently push them down and sometimes even cause them to shift slightly, making your straff when you didn't mean to or affect your aim just a bit.

Do you think that they will do an update to allow you to change your LT and RT to a back button. I got this controller thinking it would be capable of binding these buttons like the elite series 2 allows you to do, but unfortunately I was mistaken : ..( I came up with a remapping that I really liked with the elite series 2 where I changed the Jump button (A) to my RT and changed my RT to the back top right paddle and changed how I took armor plates and changed weapons (Y) to my LT and made my aiming the back top left paddle so that it would free me from having to take my hands off of the sticks besides having to reload or interact with X. I realized after learning this mapping and COMPLETELY changing my muscle memory that not a lot of people, if any, use this mapping. Soo it would GREAT if they could change this so that I could remap these buttons so I don't have to go into every game I play and try to bind them in game. Which is a total pain in the neck having to do. Also, the controller and game I am referring to is an XBOX controller and Call of Duty. Thanks for the respond in advance if you do so! yeah, kinda wierd to not have Xb wireless built into the controller, when the rest of TB's prodcuts have it. The dongle is nice i guess for using the XB wireless on your PC, but i always found the BlueTooth to be fine. now, I have TB stealth 700 G2 headset, which is wireless and uses the XB wifi...so i wouldn't be wiring the headset into the controller... So once the headset and controller are paired to the xbox, will the volume controlls on the controller work? it just so happens that the the chat voume wheel on my G2 headset is a lil wonky, so having another method to adjust would be awesome.

I'm very interested in a comparison to the elite 2 because in my opinion it's the most comfortable controller I have ever used with paddles. My next controller will either be this turtle Beach or another elite 2..I like that I don't need a dongle with elite 2. This turtle Beach looks nice though. I also have a Razer wolverine V2. It's nice but the back buttons are uncomfortable.

You can also leave the dongle plugged into the dock and plug the dock in the Xbox and just use the controller wireless there.i honestly feel like that’s the best way. You know only can keep the dock plugged in ready to charge something and you keep yourself from losing the dongle cuz it’s always plugged into the dock and you can still use it wireless with the controller and Xbox..

Is this easy to remap back paddles with Rewasd ? The elite 2 has direct mapping menu for back paddles in REWASD which makes it so easy. I prefer using REWASD instead of native remapping because it's easy to export mapping settings to other controllers.

Not having an L3/R3 binding for the back buttons is a deal breaker for me as well. A good number of retros from the PS2/Xbox Original era games has some functions bound to those buttons that can't normally be remapped in game. Like one of the old Burnout games puts the booster on the L3. Sure you could remap it in an emulator, but not all of them currently support controller profile options. Then you have some modern metroidvanias that will bind movement abilities to the stick buttons as well. It's just not ideal for these kinds of games.

I play siege and you lean with the left and right stick clicks when ads (they are soon adding ability to lean without ads similar to how it is on pc). The left and right stick click programed to the paddles has the bonus of being the run key and the knife key as well when not ads which is actually a huge bonus and can be detrimental in some instances lol. I use 3 paddles LS RS and B in siege. This controller would be the best console siege controller if they had sticks programable to the back buttons. Unfortunately, the elite series 2 is still holding that position as this controller doesn't have the sticks programable. I'd have bought this if it did. Siege is a great game give it a go if you've never tried it.

Had my Elite 2 for almost 3 years. Ive taken great care of it. Cleaned it regularly and been careful never to drop it and it still going well for me. No stick drift at all. However, about 3 months ago the right bumper started going on me and ive had to remap it though it still works, just not 100% of the time. The thumbstick motion on my Elite still feels incredible so this TB would have to be an absolute thumbstick god for me to make the switch.

it's the switch. SoSS Gaming (KZbin and amazon) explained the whole issue with the bumpers. MS used different mfr switches for the Elite 2 for some reason, and they're trash.The solution is to put in the previous mfr's swtiches. SoSS sells. cheap too. So i've soldered in new switches into two different Elite 2's and never had a problem again!!

I was looking to buy a new controller to last me a while. My last few bumpers have worn out. It’s either this controller, or a battle beaver, which is better? I play claw so I don’t care for back buttons, but I need a solid controller for competitive games.

Unrelated to the vid but i just received my hypr controller with Hall effect sticks and it came in with heavy jitter and the worse precision/calibration ive ever felt and it gave me the same results as your nacon revolution 5’s left stick in gamepad tester. If i send it back will they fix it or do you think they wont be able to do anything

2 Questions on this matter, I watched both Vids, and by the way, I think they were very informative and humorous, to say the least. However, this issue you had with The Firware update was that successfully resolved, I have pre-ordered one of these controllers and don't want to go through the hassles you went through on your first Vid, 2nd--If you were to add the usb into the charging cradle, as you pointed out on the second Vid, and attached it to any USB on the X box, irrelevant front or back, will it still power up the X Box Wireless. Just a thought... I await your thoughts on the matter.
