so you're saying, your issue is that the switches are linear? They are advertised as such, so it's only a letdown if you don't know how to read a product page

They are a linear switch. No tactile feel. Linear optical switch. I prefer linear switches vs tactile and membrane switches. The reason why it is linear is because the dual keybind action, you can’t make a double tactile switch. It would increase the resistance needed to actuate the switch so it wouldn’t make sense.

I bought the two and I think the normal Tartarus V2 is much better. The Pro is a solution to a problem that does not exist. Great review and very honest must You Tubers push the most expensive one. I don't know why they promote the most expensive one, maybe the company gives them money for that because the most expensive one is a total disaster inferior to the original. 😂🎉

I went from v2 to pro and indeed this doesn't have a tactile feel but imo 100% better. Less noise and the actuation point is so slight that you can just tap it lightly and it will register. Amazinnnnn EDIT: ok this is great for digital art but not gaming. the pressing multiple keys simultaneously just feel s clunky and weird. Single press is good. Just gotta lightly graze the button.

watching this today when i bought a tratarus pro a month ago and im like oh no... no bro... that's... that's not it... xD im actually thinking about modding my Tartarus Pro.. the space is WAY back and low, the joystick sukks and the keys are basically unreachable confortably. also, i always end up lifting my hand holding on to "w" while playing as the key are way too stiff (coming from a crappy logitech membrane short travel keyboard probably doesnt helP) i added a rubber pad to the joystick but still sukks.

Have you tried to set a standard for button layout? You should have the option to do it automatically or manually if one wishes. It's amazing how boring, frustrating, and useless it is to configure what each key does per game or software (and you could even use it to work if you could only change those keycaps), that's why people stop using them. The Hori Tactical Assault Commander Pro did it, but the Razer gaming keyboard is more comfortable. I think the worst thing is wasting time programming and configuring everything for each game and software. If you make a "standard like controller" for the button layout, then you just have to copy and paste what the Xbox controller or PS controller does. For example, if the Razer 05 is X/A, then the Razer 04 is the circle/B and I don't know, maybe paint the symbol on the keycap with liquid paper, then it shouldn't be so bad to be able to use it regularly. I don't know when Razer will think more and make an Excel layout or better use standard Cherry MX keycaps just by making a inclined circuit board with a simple flex connector to maintain the inclined shape of the keys. In that way you could have A, B, X, Y and M1, M2 for macros. That please add real sticks like the ones on the Xbox/PS or do a 4-way arrows, 8-ways arrow interchangeable module or a "push button analog stick" like Thrustmaster ESWP Pro Controller did. I mean that Razer finally made analog buttons with the Razer Tartarus Pro (but they don't work well either because it doesn't recognize the height at which it is pressed well) it could even make the second function be with a little bump. I don't know why any company hasn't made it yet, no one has done a good job yet. Razer Tartarus has a good palm rest, but some prefer the Orbweaver palm rest, so you better stop making two types of products, just make one interchangeable. The same goes for the wheel that some love and some hate. Just a button above the arrows? Put two as start and select like controllers. Someone must do it more logically. The only reason why the gaming keypad or gamepad is useful is to reduce hand movements and to be faster by giving you the ability to use a real mouse to be more precise and faster. And if you want to keep the analog pedals that the controllers have for firing, maybe think of an analog click mouse. That's all it takes to create an awesome, useful, and necessary gaming keyboard or gaming controller (it doesn't even have a name of its own). If anyone reads this, please submit these ideas to Razer, Corsair, Logitech, Thrustmaster, or Hori.

For games like Arma 3 (where you need a lot of buttons) having the dual function buttons is very practical. Light press = Compass, Full press = Map, or Light press = Momentary Compass, Full press = Toggle Compass. IMO this is much more practical than the "hypershift" function. As doing a light press require a certain amount of your "brain capacity", this is only practical for less "time sensitive" actions (inventory, map, escape key, etc), and NOT when you are in the middle of the action in a fast paced shooter (run/walk, changing weapons, using healing items, etc). When it comes to the "feel" of the linear buttons, it doesnt bother me at all. I REALLY prefer the sound of the Pro over the "clicky" V2 buttons.

I removed the metal clip on every key on the V2 so my keys now are silent and tactile. Only the D pad is clicky now.

Do not buy this product! Its unusable right now. Razer didnt fix the sticky-key-problem since over a year now. Its a software issue with synapse 3. Your character will walk in one direction every now and then untill you tab this direction key again. Its totally unusable for any gamer and a shame for this company, that they didnt solve this issue since over a year for a product worth over 130$/150€...
