Im in the same boat at this point we are all better off waiting for the new system instead of dropping $100 on new joy cons. The stock with a good grip is good enough. I also half the hori split pad pro and while yes it sucks not to have all the features the original have some games don’t require the rumble and what not like story rpg games.

Similar dilemma here. Currently I have a Switch Lite and a Switch OLED (I've actually had to buy a second OLED after my first was lost/stolen), so that's a lot of money spent already. On top of that, I have an 8BitDo SN30Pro+, an 8BitDo Pro2, and a pair of Nyxi Hyperion Joy Cons. That's about $130 on controllers alone, and $560 ($910) on the current generation of consoles. If the next generation (whenever it's finally announced) doesn't use the same joy con connection and/or releases with hall effect joy cons, I won't really need two sets of large joy cons for my OLED alone and I'd have wasted $80 getting these (even though I really want a hall effect set of joy cons with turbo and mappable back buttons right now 😅).

The sticks on the crkd + r amazing and it fits with Xbox kontrolfreeks. I put Lotus Teal on them with that purple module. Looks great. I put the eclipse on the joy cons. Made a huge difference still the sticks on joy cons suck. Put a purple precision ring and made a huge difference…..i haven’t put a ring on the crkd + but to me it has great tension. I love the Hall effect triggers too….and I love the sidekick buttons. Just ordered a black pair, Hall effect and same ALPS HD rumble as joy cons, but the micro switches I can’t wait. Kontrolfreeks for any system work? I also got universal slip ons for joy cons and pro controller. Also kontrolfreeks came out with splash grips for joy cons I got orange purple hoping if it doesn’t fit on M6 HD, I’ll use them on my orange purple joy cons. What do u recommend. Does the mobapad m6 need a precision ring and will kontrolfreeks work on them, joy con Xbox or ps5. Thnx Kevin!

Hey Kevin I have the M6 Gemini (the ones you referenced at 1:55) and I'm wondering a couple of things: 1) what do you not like about the old ones 2) are the M6 HD Gemini's a huge improvement in comfort? Having the ability to use them wireless would be nice but if I'm playing on the go I pretty much always keep them attached anyway. Also the HD rumble would be cool but there are so few Switch games that properly support HD rumble that it's not a huge selling point to me. Thanks!

@@PJNyte Thanks for the helpful response! Really the biggest issue I have with the old ones is the dpad, it's just pretty mushy and not great for platformers, and my Switch is my indie machine so if the Dpad is much nicer on the M6S/ M6HD then that might be reason enough to upgrade

@big_guyhhh I think it's roughly three-ish years of constant button pressing, I'd say that's long enough to last that generation of console... that's just the manufacturer guarantee. People who have these joy-cons on the Switch OLED, any tips? Do they fit well in the rails, or do they feel loose, like they're "wobbly"? I recently bought a LinYuvo and returned it because the fit was loose, very different from the original joy-cons that fit perfectly, like a single piece. Thanks, everyone!
@XavierHyena3 ай бұрын
Don't have them yet but many people say the opposite. Supposedly the rails feel _really_ tight with M6 HDs. Some people even file the plastic with sandpaper so it's easier to attach/remove. Nintendo's Joy-Cons get loose with use over time. My partner rarely uses his Switch and the Joy-Cons fit pretty good. Mine were really loose until I replaced the Joy-Con rails recently.

I recently bought the M6 HD and found an issue where in some games like Hyper Light Drifter the HD rumble will continuously rumble while connected and only stop on loading screens, or if I disconnect them from the Switch itself and then they will work properly. I also read on a thread that on the N64 app as soon as you run a game the rumble will also run continuously, which I tested and found the same fault. I also read somewhere that Yoshis Crafted World has the same issue but I don't have the game to be able to test it. Has anyone else found this issue?

Can anyone justify Mobapad M6 HD rumble versus the rumble in the m6 s? Lol that's a $30 price gap for a "premium " version of high definition vibration?? Lol honestly, is that worth it? Can't be😭🏁
@XavierHyena3 ай бұрын
Different button switches too. $30 upgrade for Omron switches and ALPS actuators (HD rumble). Instead of a spinning weight "HD rumble" is like a narrow-range speaker. A few games require it for gameplay. In many games it's optional but you'll notice the difference. Other games use simple vibrations but it's still more responsive and sensitive than a rotor. Supposedly M6 HD's rumble is stronger than real Joy-Cons. Everything else is identical between M6 S/HD, even the magnetic sticks. Most 3rd party controllers don't have actuators. Some have no vibration.

The Switch was outdated before its release, powered by the Nvidia Shield's Tegra chip. Just like how the Wii had a cheap AMD chip. Nintendo has a habit of using weak hardware for new consoles. The "Switch 2" will likely be running a GPU that's at least 2 years old when it arrives.
@cletus2239 ай бұрын
I have the Doyoki RGB Wireless Controller (they're joycons but I assume "joycon" is a copyrighted term) and they work well enough. They're comfortable but the d-pad isn't that great. I bought the Nyxi Hyperion joycons but they started disconnecting periodically then they got stick drift, specifically it would register movement on the left stick without touching, which was the most infuriating part as I'd bought them after getting stick drift twice on my Nintendo joycons. The first time replacing the stick worked but the second time was a problem with the board so I had to get a new pair. I've had controllers with joysticks for almost thirty years and never had any problems with stick drift until I got a Switch in 2021. Is there some contractual requirement from Nintendo that any controller built for the Switch has to have the crappiest joysticks imaginable?

I've been championing the original M6/M9 (same thing) & this is a nice but fairly small update - this is a 25% better update; looks better, nicer finish with a more matte than glossy than the OG. I have XL hands & initially I didn't like the extended grips being shortened - but once I changed my grip from less of a 'gun' grip to a grip whereby I was resting the round corners into my palms, I was very happy. This is a generation you could skip if you have the original M6/M9, but if you want a nice little upgrade & you're not tight on cash... Id say yeah go for it - Mobapad just beat Mobapad to the crown of the new king of Switch Joycons.
