How does the size comparison to the Series x/s controller, is it wider or taller?
@AmbientShrub2 жыл бұрын
@@JAYHAWKER-88 it feels a lil bit smaller in general and its pretty lightweight. The joystick's concave surface area is smaller too. I guess my one complaint with this controller is that you will press the triggers way too easily. The triggers have hardly any resistence to them so you might find yourself shooting or throwing grenades by accident a lot. The app includes a deadzone feature for the triggers as well, but it's still something you want to be aware of.

I bought this controller and took it back after 3 days . The controller itself felt great . Amazing paddle system and pretty good trigger stops . However my issue was the sticks . It doesn’t register movement for slight adjustments. I play linear on FPS games and because of the controller not being capable of micro adjustments I took it back . Before anyone says well there’s software to adjust the sticks …. Yes there is but it doesn’t effect this. It’s the same thing Razer did with the v2 chroma . Wouldn’t register micro adjustments until they put out new software . If Victrix puts out an update to fix this issue then I would go buy it again . All this being said if you play FPS and your shooting curve is steady or classic then this is a great controller. If you play linear think again .

@Justin Goodall I may be late but I currently have the razer v2 chroma and I play on linear settings and face no issues (according to me). @@ej9668 Absolutely. I was sold on the Razer cause of all the gimmicky crap like the tactile buttons and chroma, so much that I basically ignored the bad reviews 🤣 But the paddle design is horrible, and more importantly the thumbsticks feel wildly inaccurate (to me, at least) Maybe it's a deadzone issue, or a byproduct of the awkward holding position, but it's very hard to trace objects or "draw" a small circle with your crosshairs, basically anything requiring micro adjustments. When using the Razer, my accuracy in Halo actually dropped about 15% over a 2 day period. The Victrix on the other hand, felt great right out of the box. Accurate, has legit hair triggers, good paddle design, etc. They basically nailed all the stuff that actually matters. It doesnt have chroma or tactile buttons, but the buttons feel fine and work as they should. The Gambit is also kontrol freek compatible, and the Razer isn't. Hope this helps

So im about a year late but i brought this controller and have a couple issues. #1 Theres an in-built deadzone in the thumbsticks that isn't possible to turn off which is probably why there's no drift ever. While it seems like a good thing, it makes micro adjustments impossible especially if you use a linear response curve in fps games. #2 I shoot with the right bumper as opposed to the right trigger and for some reason it is impossible to fire an automatic weapon without the input being interrupted. This makes it extremely unreliable.

I am floored by the fact that more competitors haven't copied Razer's Wolverine (excluding the mediocre mappable buttons/worthless sensitivity buttons on bottom). The mechanical XABY buttons are a delight, and the mappable for lack of a better term L4/R4 buttons between and offset from the triggers and bumpers are literally game changing. Being able to roll in souls games without relenting control of the camera makes a huge difference for me personally, and is objectively more intuitive than trying to learn 4 paddle/button settings on the undercarriage as opposed to 2 below, two up front.

Just felt like it was my responsibility to say that I’m currently on the second one of these controllers that has the same quality control issues of the last one. Out of the box the controller feels, looks and performs great! The only issue is if you use it for more than 20 hours of game time. With both of the controllers I have had issues with button/trigger registration (which I have clips of in the software), stick drift (which I “fix” every other hour) and the deterioration of the back buttons. Customer service was super helpful and sent me a new controller after I jumped through all their hoops set in place (calls,video of errors, emails, etc.). However, they needed me to send my controller back to them to get it serviced. So for about a week and a half I couldn’t play any of the titles I wanted on controller… After I received my second “new” controller I noticed that the issues of the original controller had repeated itself. Never had anything like this happen with any Scuf or Razer controller I’ve purchased. After returning this controller I think I’m just gonna settle for an elite series 2. I hope that I run into far less issues with that!

This my favourite controller to date pure and simply because of the performance of the sticks, paddle design, trigger design and trigger stops. Out perform any controller I've used. Elite 1& 2 and the standard SX controller and Razer V2 chroma. I don't care for the marketing BS either, all I know is it works and does it well. Where it falls short is it feels cheap. Doesn't mean it's built bad or anything or it feels like it will break easily. But comparing it to an Elite or Razer it feels cheap. But for $100 bucks it's the best bang for you buck. Looking forward to where these guys go next because I think they will make the controller market have to step it up for price, features and performance. I use KontrolFreeks and added some gamergrip (custom cut to fit) to the backgrips.

For example an Xbox one controller plugged into pc game me about 3.75-4 ms latency with every input I did but when I used 3rd party software to overclock my controller, those numbers when from 0.75-1.1 ms input latency. I think there’s a lot more to some of these controllers than even someone with your experience might know and it would be nice to see some actual testing to see what the actual input times are so that we aren’t saying stuff that isn’t true, or debunking marketing tactics when they just might be true. Hi, I'm from Poland and I bought it for $ 90 Gambit yesterday. The first impression was pretty good. The surface of the analog sticks could be a bit larger. The triggers are very fast. So fast that I had to reduce their sensitivity through the applications because I was accidentally shooting while playing Warzone all the time. I was counting on triggers the most and here it is great, but I really wanted paddles. And here I have a problem. While playing, I squeeze the controller and press the paddles all the time by accident. I programmed them under L3 and B to run fast and slide, but it bothers more than helps. I wonder if I will be able to get used to using them at all. In general, I think that $ 90 is probably worth buying. We'll see after a month of playing if I was right. Do any of you have paddles programmed for Warzone and can write what your settings are? Thanks

I will say if xbox control freeks fit it properly I would say the tying controller would be the Tournament due to the 2 mappable buttons beside LB & RB but, I don’t necessarily like the ergonomic feel or the click of the rear paddles but i can’t use cuz at times the left stick won’t move my guy online so I tried cleaning and stuff but still did it. Im currently working on wearing out my elite 2, but the gambit has my attention for sure. But dts>dolby for situational awareness. I own both apps cause i bought them both. Dolby is super heavy handed on the bass. It does have a custom equalizer but. Even then. When I bought a dts license, even without an equalizer function, I feel its way more natural sounding and has a much better spacious sound.

People do listen to buttons. I have listen to buttons on opponents to react to certain moves or cadences in fighting games. Of course you will not usually hear a controller tho. Listening was mainly again stick players. It would kinda hard to listen to controller buttons as they aren't as big and typically either membrane in nature (not always) vs samwa buttons and the like

I've been using it for 1.5 weeks and it's a super controller, but there's a bit of a problem with it! My Experience: If you use a wired headset, then the controller will change the direction of the sounds on the headset and you will hear everything from the opposite direction! My headset(Epos H3) works normally with all other controllers except this! And there is no solution for it yet!

How long do you think this controller will last (joystick drift, etc.)? I considered getting the Xbox Elite Controller (Series 2) on sale but decided against it because people were saying they had joystick drift within a year. I love the feel and look of the Elite, but play controller wired on PC so don't need the rechargeable battery. And for that price, experiencing joystick drift that fast is unacceptable.

I have no qualms or bias towards any controller (except maybe the Razer Wolverine), and this is the first video I watch from you - but saying that something is false marketing because you don't agree with the difference loses a lot of credibility. I understand what you mean, almost no casual player will notice the 1/50th-1/100th of a second difference between a wired and wireless controller. But many players want to be optimal, even if they can't feel it themselves. A lot of this doesn't even come down to "feeling" it either, it's just raw numbers and knowing that there are probably a lot of interactions that went in your advantage because of a fraction of a second quicker inputs. I think it's important to be as clear as possible, and I get that you tried (since you did make a comment towards "unless you're an esports player"), but I just would not call it false advertising without first actually checking if it's actually the fastest controller. As a fighting game player, I did have to switch to a wired controller back in the previous console era because the 1/50th of a second of extra delay would actually make some interactions impossible to react to for me (while it was possible with a wired one). Literally just 1-2 frames of delay would cause that. This generation thankfully things have improved even more and I am able to use a wireless controller that only has 0-1 frames of delay (about 0.4). Also, you mention wireless controllers able to play wired - a lot of those are even slower. The Xbox Elite for example ranges around 2-4 frames of delay (WHICH IS HUGE, even bigger than most wireless) even when wired. It's not necessarily about wired vs wireless. There's also the data transfer speed of the cable, the polling rate of the controller and a lot of other bullshit that gets in the way. And for people wanting to buy "competitive" controller, I think it is actually important to know how fast/slow your controller is even if you can't feel it

Love the vid I was just wondering you said you would link the cable extender in the description I was looking for a good one that can have the keep the same speed and quality as it would without the cable extender, please link one as I really need one.

Don't get an Elite or Scuf I have both an the Elite had stick drift straight out of the box and less than a month the left bumper isn't working. About to send it back for a refund. The Scuf is great when it works, keyword when. It literally just disconnects by itself no matter if it is wireless or wired. Everything is updated. Then Scuf said you can send it in and it will be $100 just to troubleshoot it, then an untold amount to actually fix it. I just got the Gambit in the mail today and will be trying it out in the next day or two.

Great review, but missing the point of the hexagon gate. The company makes controllers for fighting games players in mind first, that’s why its not a niche and will be used. Other than, I agree on everything said, great review.

Hey man i love your content and i wont buy a controller without your expert stamp of approval. My question is if you had an unlimited budget and you could get any controller for FPS (on PC) what would it be? I had some bad luck with scuf and aim controllers now im back on the market for a new controller.

Not Overhyped in terms of latency on Xbox Console. Ps5 controllers on pc have 8k polling rate which is the highest out of any. Xbox controllers have always had bad latency. But on Xbox Console the Victrix has a noticeably faster response time compared to any other Xbox controller.

This ^ is exactly how I feel right now. I play Apex Legends on series x, and the input delay is bad compared to my old gen console.

The only thing that concerns me and is never mentioned is the wire. How does it hold up after extensive use? I had a PowerA controller, which sucks completely but my main problem with it before stick drift occurred or any other problems, the wire wouldn't stay put in the controller. Now I can never use it again because it won't stay in, period. Can anyone comment on this after extensive use? I dont want to spend close to 100 on a controller thats gonna crap out after 3 to 6 months.
@erichquinones5983 ай бұрын
I have had this controller for over a year and the wire is fine.
