An older ak47 is incapable of being suppressed due to the threads on the barrel not being concentric to the bore. This simply means that the threads are often not square with the rest of the barrel, and this could result in the bullet skipping along the baffles in the suppressor, damaging it in the process.

Yes AKMs (most of them) are bored and rifled to function correctly with supressors. The original military issued AK47s were not even threaded.

Not only can a barrel be threaded later or the suppressor attached by some other means, but that is actually the AKM which is often referred to as just the AK47 bit like how M16A4 is often just called M16. You can tell it's the AKM (stamped receiver) from the short divot in the side of the receiver next to the magazine rather than the long deep divot characteristic of the AK47's original milled receiver.

Jammer is a terrible perk. I've never been surprised by an enemy using it and every time I do notice a jammer, I just search him out and kill him. It works less like a counter UAV and more like a game of hot and cold to find the jammer.

FalconsPOWN2 they've used the same type of guns in other cods and people are getting into bad spawns. AW was a futuristic cod but even without the futuristic things it was still the best cod. Such as when they created weapon variants and different "armor" like destiny and it kept people interested and thirsty for the rare items. AW did a very good job on creating good spawns and even if you are spawned trapped you could jump out of it , kill the person and run or dash away from it. Futuristic cod is what cod needs to survive or keep people on their toes.

The released footage showed an AN-94, it's not a direct AK rifle but it's one of the current replacements to the AK-74M and the operation is pretty similar so it'll probably end up taking on the same role.

Ghost as the first perk is 100 times better. Warlord is great, but i'd consider the hardened perk (extra penetration) as maybe a better one. Hacker as the third one is probably the best choice as well. As mods, I'd either recommend dual mags or silencer or both (with warlord)...just like you. Preferred gamemode: hardcore. I got countless attack helicopers with that loadout;)

Great guide. In fact, the very first version of the gun was the AK-46 prototype which has been presented to a jury, but refused due to some construction flaws (it was very different from the later 47 version). Kalashnikov had to improve his model, and he came back one year later with the actual AK-47.

Actually, the slow tumbling of the 7.62x39 round can make a very small hole. If you get hit and no bone/vitals are shot, the adrenaline alone is enough to keep a soldier firing and running. The medical care isn't so serious and you heal fast. The only real advantage of 7.62 is it's weight, making it good at barrier penetration. If you get shot by 5.56, it will tear a big cavity inside the body and fragment into multiple projectiles. The shock can break bones without touching them.

Fun fact, it's more of a WASR-2 than an AK-47. Given how you play as a Black Ops operative in the campaign, the AK you get is an American made experimental variant (WASR-2). The problem is the Vietcong in the campaign use it, and that really doesn't make any sense as they were using Chinese rip-off Type-56's and Russian AKM's.

Surely adding mass above the barrel should lessen recoil - like the sights, because the closer the COM is to the firing bullet the less torque is produced in exchange for more backward force, although adding mass reduces the acceleration.

Xbox Ahoy heres something u might find interesting, each assault rifle in black ops has an upgraded version of itself, what I mean is the AK-47 is the Galil but with more damage, FNFAL is the M14 but with more accuracy. AUG is the enfeild but with more RPM. The Commando is the only exception, (the m16 is the g11 but it has less range but more ammo and better recoil) I know there are slight differences like recoil and iron sigh picture but if u look at the stats you should see what I mean.

He was against the idea at first but he designed it to compete with the M16 and I think he was pretty successful as some people say the AKM has much less recoil than the M16, also the difference in damage is negligible because of the small difference in caliber.

I like to use the AK-47 occasionally to feel like a Navy SEAL that has run outta ammo and is adapting to his surroundings... But I'd suggest this class if you wanna try REALLY hard. Well, he said ANY gun can kill you, which even if you go to guns that fire actual live ammunition, you'll definatly run into many occourances where that .22LR round can't pierce your skull, or where 20 meters away that 9MM round starts to lose velocity etc.

Actually, the Commando doesn't have to be the CAR-15. It can either be the Carbine variant of the Colt AR-15 or the Colt 933
