I am very pleased to see so many very young people engaged seriously in classical music and in a level of perfection which seems to me incredible for the age of all the participants. I loved to watch and listen. Thank you for contributing to the survival of classical music!

Classical music of scores of composers of great talent not only survive but thrive among audience who care for quality and not audience numbers. Unlike pop music loved by a large number of listeners for a limited period and forgotten for ever, classical music has an enduring spell cast on sensitive listeners. Great music of great composers do not lose their attractiveness however many times they are listened to unlike pop music which cannot stand repetition much. Classical music has the power to elevate one's pleasure of listening to heights beyond the reach of most popular music. This is not to say that some pop music and its composers have taken their music to great heights like much of classical music as well. Unfortunately most pop music today is measured in wattage they produce rather than the joy of beauty that they evoke.

I totally agree... i can not help to think about how much Polish people suffered in ww2, all the hardship...almost destroyed to the core, but how they re built themselves through time, it gives me a immense feeling of hope, PEACE and admiration to this wonderful nation, this music can really save the most important thing on earth, life, this comes to be like a rose on the lapel.

Well, I loved it and my 3-year old son keeps asking me to play it again and again (he knows all the instruments and can guess the titles of the movements, so it's fun all around). Sure, mistakes were made, but come on - they are musicians who are precisely in that stage in their careers where they need to learn that valuable lesson (which many of us older musicians forget): forgive yourself, then move on. Well done, guys. Now let's keep going.

I particularly liked the way they were close framing the shots and how the film editor put you right in the action each time a solo and chorus escaped to make a little aside. I particularly noticed the astute dialog between the pianists treble hand and the silver percussionist's telling comments. And i think everyone should note the conductor's skill at keeping all the disparate events happening on time without overdirecting. She is to be esteemed. I heard a couple of typos, but as my father would say, there is no backspace in music, and it keeps you human. Otherwise a very stellar performance of a very fun piece.

Lovely performance of a lovely work. In regard to several previous comments of others, the "Pianists" section is meant to be played with uncoordinated timing, missed notes, etc.--it is a spoof of the Czerny exercises beginning pianists struggle with. Saint-Saens apparently thought their awkward clumsiness as endearing as that of the other animals in his musical menagerie. He similarly gives the tortoises some very un-melodious harmonies that take several measures to resolve. It is not a lack of skill on the part of the performers. You will please notice that other equally demanding sections, such as "Horses of Tartary" are performed flawlessly.
