Thank you the video. Very nice. I still don't understand what is the difference between the two ON posititions, and what 17 25/30 means!!

I'm sure you'll agree that a 'budget maintenance' quote on this type of vintage turntable always turns into a major maintenance even if it's only on the one or two areas. Nice job but I'm sure the bill was probably higher for the time you spent on it. It's difficult at times. 👍

@TurntableGuy I spent 6 hours on an elac mirracord 50 for $80.00. I almost cried.

Why did you use that weight oil on that bearing? I’ve primarily been using a synthetic super lube oil when I rebuild TTs with good results. But wondering if I should use something else?
@TurntableGuy11 ай бұрын
I tend to use a heavier weight oil when the original lube from the factory was grease. Rega turntables use hypoid gear oil as their bearing lube. Also, considering the bearing was seized, I wanted a heavy viscosity in there.

Very useful video. Thanks! Do you know is it's possible to leave the spindle out a bit higher? I'm asking this because now I can't use the platter weight or clamp because there's not enough lenght from the spindle to centre properly. (I hope you understand what I mean, because being a Dutchman my English may be a little weard...😅)

No you can't

I'm guessing that 'ON' 17 positions arm for 45rpm, 'ON' 25/30 for 33 rpm?

I wonder the same. What 17 or 25-30 mean?

I admire your tenacity and patience. I would have given up on the spindle much earlier 😊 BTW can you tell me where you source your damping oil. I can't find it anywhere and my Pioneer PL570 (A700) lost all it's fluid over the years. Thanks for any help you can offer. Great video.

Poor turntable probably hadn't seen oil since it was built!
