Try connecting your synths with USB or Midi-Interface to your PC + MPC Software only. If everything works add your MPC as controller with USB.

Didn't work.... Fantom X6 don't even show up as an audio device when connected to the Mac M1. I though drivers might be the issue but there are no compatible drivers available on the Roland website. I fear that the Fantom X6 is so old that three drivers have reached end of life before the M1 Macs were released. My only 2 options will be either use the Fantom in stand alone.... or NOT use the Fantom in controller mode

I have this same problem. My akai mpk mini is connected to the usb port of the mpc one it's recognized in standalone mode but when i go to controller mode it doesn't recognize the mpk mini. However if I connect the mpk to mac mac usb port it see's it.

Yeah.... It's really starting to annoy me. Even the preferences menu in controller mode is DIFFERENT than it is in stand alone, which makes NO SENSE. Everything should be exactly the same. It defeats the purpose of the software and MPC firmware are DIFFERENT. I'm real close to giving up on controller mode

I have the exactly same problem. Standalone mode sees my mpdx6, fa06, jdxa, ModelD, streichfett but none of them are in populated device list while in cpmtroller mode. It seems software still has bug

I was using my MPC in controller mode, while in controller mode connected to my PC I changed the name of file folder containing a few projects. After re-naming it the folder disappeared along with the projects. Is there any way I can locate the mentioned folder and projects? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Maybe try to look for it using the PC? THE Mpc might not recognize the folder anymore since you changed the name....

Could you solve the issue? I have the same problem but with a bigger nr of invisible synths under controller mode.

I think I figured it out.... The reason the Fantom X6 disappears in controller mode is because the Roland USB drivers have not been updated in several years and thus is not compatible with any Mac os older than 10. When I plug the Fantom DIRECTLY into the computer it's not even recognized as an audio device. However.... When it's plugged into the MPC-X in stand alone it IS recognized. This is totally weird but there appears to be no workaround. My Korg Kronos is recognized either way by both the computer AND the MPC-X so there are no problems there. I guess for now....I can only use the Fantom when I intend to use the MPC in stand alone mode..... And just in case you're wondering I put in a support ticket with Akai and after 6 months of waiting they basically responded with "we don't know".... So there's that. 😂

Are you still having the issue? My Fantom X6 works in standalone I haven’t tried it yet in controller mode I will tonight and see. But I do know before I got the MPC X the Fantom X6 stopped recognizing it on my Mac computer on the USB because Roland stopped updating the drivers for it. Logic and pro-tools couldn’t find it. So I’m thinking the issue must be a Roland to computer issue. How about the XP-80 you have? That keyboard is a hidden treasure people really don’t know about. Great sounds!! I have one also.

I did some research and I'm pretty sure you are correct. There's NO drivers for Mac on the Roland site. I would have to use the Fantom in stand alone mode with the MPC. I put in a support ticket with AKAI back in June and they didn't respond until NOVEMBER (SHAME ON YOU AKAI). They didn't even address the issue...All they did was give me instructions to do I live chat for some tech support. 😆 As far as the XP80 is concerned....I did 2 albums on that board when I first started producing years ago.....I LOVE IT and will probably never get rid of it. Those fat analogue sounds are not easily recreated on today's keyboards.... It's a classic!

@@BigBrotherMotown the X-80 is the last keyboard I will get rid of. They want 1,200 for a used one. I like it better then all of them.

@@BigBrotherMotown used in good condition it’s a hot item now especially in India. I paid 1100 for it in 1997 brand new. That SP-1200 they want a arm and a leg for that now.

what happens if you unplug it from the mpc and then plug it back in?

The MPC recognizes the Fantom no problem in stand alone mode. But as soon as I switch to controller mode the Fantom disappears

@@BigBrotherMotown damn, i was hoping it would show up after replug, i have a mpc in the mail and will be trying the same workflow when i get it, i'll let you know if i figure it out

@@thetooth cool thanks...I think the big problem is that the settings don't port over when you switch to controller mode. Meaning you can have settings one way in stand alone and the moment you switch to controller mode you have to set them up again which makes no sense.

@@BigBrotherMotown yeah sounds like it could be a lot better. i have similar pains with my digitone. overbridge is great and all but I've had it completely change the synth settings when plugging in and the sound is never quite the same as how you hear it on the master mix.
