@@obscuresoundz I hear what you're saying. But it *is* a seven-year-old machine. What's amazing is how Akai has used those same internals (CPU and 2GB of RAM in 95 percent of MPCs sold) for this long. I do think a CPU and permanent upgrade to at least 4GB RAM is coming soon though.

in the age where subscription services are the norm, updates cost money, and old devices becoming obsolete, there's Akai holding back the tide. I'm legitimately impressed that such a huge update is being brought to us for free, and still supports every device with a touch interface. @@Jazman342 Got a key 61 a couple months before the key 37 was introduced and started regretting it bc of the key 37 midi feature. If you like using your daw as a module I recommend getting a key 37. Good Luck!

@@staypth3195 OK Thanks for that. I'll have to look into the 37 further. Especially the midi, though I think I have all the midi connectivity I need for now and really wanted a bigger keybed. Had been looking at the Kontrol mk3 49 though for portability. Basically putting together a seperate more mobile rig. Have the s88 and a Firewire mixer, all running through an old retina MBP as a home studio. Got into MPC a couple of years ago, followed by Force, so MPC3 is pretty natural to me. Sort of caught between the MPC and the NI eco-systems though.

Totally agree. It was my introduction to MPC and I liked it so much I also bought Force. Got half way through the video and went looking for the 'Take my money' button. Took a while to realise this was Beta only so far. May sign up for it but really, it may be a bit beyond my experience level atm. Will do if I know I can revert to current version if I choose though. Actually, the main reason I bought Force was for some of the features listed here. Mainly access features for live use in a 'one man band' situation.

What arranger? It's a track overview. Has some basic audio editing but midi cant be arranged. It just shows what's in the track. The loss of programs while allowing changes to the mixer has killed my single sequence workflow off without intricate workarounds. Only 8 plugin tracks because you can't point a track to an existing plugin any more for duplication/variations Until we have Midi clips I'm on the fence with the direction.

I use sequence and song mode in my d@mn MPC 2000 Classic that came tf out almost 30 years ago. I find all these updates in modern MPC workstations like Live, One, etc are cluttered bs. Please, Akai, don't get rid of the old workflow. A good update should always build on the existing one, not replace it with something completely new. The best thing would be if you kept both the old and new workflow. So please bring us back the ability to switch programs within tracks and fix track mute and song mode. Overall, I think this update is great, but I've seen other videos where it seems like it might actually make working harder, not easier.

I have had a love-hate relationship with my MPC One since 2022. The waste of screen real estate and needing to change pages/screens/menus to do simple connected things as well as the awful confusing program thing always added an extra element of confusion. As an early adopter day one user I’m ashamed to save my MPC has now sat on the shelf as a glorified hard disk . however this update has been the trigger that’s going to breathe new life into my MPC usage . not least the easier workflow but very excited that I can just dump this to Ableton session meaning I can take the MPC away from the studio come up with ideas And then flip straight into Ableton once I need to expand I always had faith ain this Kit would come of age and that’s exactly why I kept the unit all these years . Right?! It took me a good while to learn how to use and find where everything is. Now they switched it up with a terrible, cheap looking, and overcrowded/overstimulating display. Still going to get it simply cuz I love my MPC One and I’m open to changes if I see that it’s a lot faster and easier to maneuver through everything.

MPC 3 Is great in many ways, I don’t like a few things with it, which I hope they’ll fix in an update. For instance the track mute on MPC 3 isn’t the same as the older software. You can’t build tracks with it. If you track mute the drums for instance in an intro sequence it will effect every sequence.

And I came into this summer canceling my Reason and Pro Tools with the hope Akai would hold me down between the MPC One + and MPC 37 I have and damn "Won't he do it" I needed part ways with both companies after 14 + years. Thank you Akai and this community.

That arranger is out of this world. This entire update is a standalone game changer. I don’t see how Native instruments recovers from this.

It will be buggy no doubt. Most serious users are still running or have downgraded to 2.10 because of this exact reason. If it doesn't I will be massively surprised.

The MPC workflow will be so much more streamlined with 3.0! Also, the new look is so much better. Based on this and Ave Mcree’s preview, it looks like we can finally customize the colors. I love how it looks in this video. Great job, Akai!

@@filipswiniarski7388 It looks like you can do disk streaming on all MPCs. I’m guessing it is only from the built-in internal hard drive. I watched Ave Mcree’s preview and he showed the option in the menu to enable disk streaming, but there was not a way to select a source from which to stream. So my impression is that disk streaming makes the internal hard drive work like RAM.

This is what made the old Mpc’s in the 90s so dope. I have had an mpc x for a few years and never used it now that they are streamlining the workflow I will use it
