My best friend's parents had an Akai system around 1983. I remember thinking it looked very cool- I'm certain the tape player was either this model, or a very similar one.

where did you get the pinch rollers and other components? I still have this deck I bought around 1981/82. Loved it. Though I think the GX head is showing some wear. Have not used it since around 1990...but still works. Looking to put put it back in my current system that is probably 30K and mostly custom. Thanks in advance

I found them on eBay, but their quality wasn't stellar. After using them for a few years, they split. Try reaching out to Van-Hurban. Here's a similar listing (the smaller one might be right for the 66, but get dimensions including the center hole and ask them): www.ebay.com/itm/285490614253
