@Mike-yn8fx I'm really not exactly sure but I would start by changing your track type to a keygroup track. You may be able to just drag a file onto the pads in the software or try loading a file from the browser. I don't ever use the software, so that's about all the help I can be.

@LiftedNoise
@LiftedNoise Жыл бұрын
In pad perform you can select your scale and above that in the top left corner select CHROMATIC it's above CHORDS and PROGRESSIONS. when CHROMATIC is selected you will notice that the pads that are highlighted yellow and red will be the notes in your scale. As long as you don't play the pads that are not lit you should be good! 🙏 thanks for stopping in ✌️

Press the pencil icon on the program section on the home screen them their will be an option to save program, when you press this it will take You to the browser, navigate and find a good place to save it, you can create a new folder from here, maybe name it keygroups, you can name the program from here and press save as. When you want to load, navigate to where you saved the program and press load. Hope that's clear enough. Thanks for watching 🙏

Hi there, thanks for the videos. I have a question. I have my sample laid out across the keyboard now, however instead of it just pitching up or down, it changes the pitch and speeds up or slows down the sample depending on if I go higher or lower. It's super weird. Any ideas?
@LiftedNoise
@LiftedNoise Жыл бұрын
Yea that's just the nature of how it works. Pitching will speed up your sample. It is better to create a multisample so the pitching and speeding up of samples isn't as noticeable

What if you got a bunch of samples already multisampled on the Blackbox you want to load them into the MPC. Is there a way to bulk load them along with the MPC knowing how to place the samples?
@LiftedNoise
@LiftedNoise 3 жыл бұрын
No. I wish!! As far as I know you have to assign them individually. You also have to input the exact key within the sample edit, by default the MPC assumes all samples are middle C or C3. Maybe there is software out there that can do it automatically for you but not in the MPC. Are these samples programmed to be playable in the black box? The MPC does have an auto sample function which triggers and records notes connected through MIDI. this would likely be your best method.

Is it possible to change the pitch and speed at the same time so that the sample sounds like slowing down a record player? I think the old mpc's could do this but im not sure with the mpc one

Someone asked me about a tape stop effect, maybe that's what your looking for..? It can be done with the xyfx. I may just work on a video soon.
@SuperMikefun
@SuperMikefun 4 жыл бұрын
@@LiftedNoise im not sure its a stop effect, it's like when you turn the varispeed knob on a record player or tape machine and the audio slows down and is pitched lower because of the physical medium. The sp 202 does this for it's pitch effect.

I'm going to be in FL Studio for the next 38 years sampling C notes from all my favorite VST's to bring them in to my MPC X. I really hate the fact that I can't use Nexus, Kontakt, Omnisphere 2 etc. on my MPC X without using the stupid DAW! I'll guess I'll just have to fork over a few hundred dollars on some of the VST's that Akai has to offer such as Fabric XL.
@LiftedNoise

Or you can auto sample multisamples of kontakt or any virtual instrument.

Another option could be to MIDI up your Virtual instruments, use your computer as a sound module and sequence it with the MPC in Standalone kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJXEk36ma6yBjLMsi=IFUO8vzRm3l0S5WM

I'm hoping this is exactly what I've been looking for! I've always wanted to just use my MPC X in standalone mode but find a way to use my VST's coming out of my computer from FL Studio! I'm just dumb as fuck when it comes to INS/OUTS and understanding how to route hardware! I've been a software nerd for 20+ years and lately I've been starting to dabble into the hardware side of creating music and it's got me battling demons I never knew existed! @@LiftedNoise
@Mista808

Can you explain more what you mean? I essentially want to create my own VST instruments on my X by sampling some notes from instruments I love in FL Studio. However, when I just sample ONE 2 second C-Note of an instrument in FL Studio, then load that note into a keygroup on my X. It sounds trashy! If I'm just pressing a single note it sounds fine, but as soon as I attempt to play chords, or anything more than one note at a time, it sounds super low budget! I know that there's a way to create your own VST's from sampling notes from our favorite DAW, but I can't find a video on the longer better method of doing this. Help? @@LiftedNoise
@LiftedNoise
@LiftedNoise 7 ай бұрын
@SuperHonkyPodcast did you watch the previous video I linked to you? That's how you will sequence them but also if you wanted to make keygroups for standalone you still need to set it up that way. After you have successfully connected your MPC to your computer this way you'll use the auto sampler in the MPC which will trigger the notes in your VST and sample them and also create a keygroup automatically. I made this video years ago that shows the process a bit. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJ2zkGOHZs5qnbMsi=yG2iWrzvRgecA1Qa

Well it should work no matter how many seconds, will it sound good is another question. You're original sample as it's pitched up will speed up and shorten it's length as it's pitched down on the keyboard it will extend the length of the sample.
