Hi there, Thanks for your enquiry, you would change the pitch using the software. So as long as the software you are using can change the pitch then you should be able to assign the fader. I hope this helps

I might get either this or a similar model (tryin to stay cheap) but I would use it more for synth samples over backing tracks than as a drum pad (unless I wanna record with it) But yeah, thanks for the review, I know more than I did to start with :3

I have a question! so I've had mine for some years but ever since I've switched to Ableton, any time I plug it in and try to use a drum rack as I normally would, the notes on the controller never align properly! So I have to manually go in my ableton drum rack and rearrange the notes. is there a work around for this? I picked up my mpd18 this morning to take pictures and put it up on the market but I'd love to keep it if it worked accordingly :/

Hi.I have 2 questions: 1-Can i assign a sound/pattern or effect that i like on the pads? 2- Can i remix a song using the pads and record the song with the software and what i'm doing on the pads to take effect on the recording?

Thought the MPD18 was pretty decent, but not good enough to keep. The pads are hard as a rock and aren't very responsive. Also a lack of features, but as a bare bones unit it's not bad. I prefer the padKONTROL however.

Hello There, Not a problem, I have just come across some information on some forums on the internet concerning using the MPD18 with Virtual DJ as it is not natively supported by the software however you can configure it to work. Just type into google 'mpd18 with virtual dj" and some of the results should be very helpful, especially the first one. I hope this helps. Regards James Getinthemix

nah didnt have any problems with it getting stuck, my usb port broke but it was my fault, at first u might find it a bit stiff and it takes a lot of pressure to activate the button, but you get used to it. MPC'S have more responsive buttons, but i love the MPD's

Buster Fred I know this was a year old comment, but no. It is a CONTROLLER. So you can use this to control midi info on the computer where your sounds are. If you have a DAW like ableton or FL you can use this but not on its own. Look at an MPC for standalone.
