Most people in the comments didn't get the point of this video. It's not a "look at me making a dope ass beat" video. It was made to showcase the workflow and stuff from the MPC X. And he did a great job with this video.

I think the beat is cool bro. We all have different styles and tastes when it cones to production. It's called music appreciation and every real musician has it. I am glad to finally hear someone do something other than weak ass, basic ass trap beats. Lookat Bryan Cox, & Tim Kelly standalone challenge. Nuff said. #Droppingthemic

I guess some people don't have good monitors to appreciate the sound quality regardless that it's a DEMO track. I'm listening on Adams A7x's and this demo sounds like it's in Surround Sound 5.0 but it's not and almost zero distortion, just a few snares hit tails are toasty. The sample is in my forehead, the kick is in my chest and the bass hits my waist. Sold.

I am super tempted because of the new 4 to 5 thousand dollar price of an Intel or Apple machine . This seems like the solution. A computer is becoming a problem and a peace of very expensive hardware that isn’t working in the work flow anymore. (Except for my iPad pros which should be at least the equivalent of the most powerful computer in any form. But it’s not a very important thing to the folks that build computers anymore. It seems like we are just not worth their time as customers. They just want to be the pals of the big shots I guess. At least that’s what it feels like when the iMac is five thousand dollars now. A Huge middle finger in all our faces. Peace Christo 🎶🎶🎶🎶👏🏻👏🏻👽👽🛸🛸🐕🐕🕺🕺👹👹✌🏻✌🏻🙏🙏👍🏻🔦

Very cool dude, sounds like Bushido/Chakuza type beat. I'd like to ask if it's possible to scroll for new samples to load while the sequence is still playing. Older MPCs couldn't do this.

In this demo you produced only a loop of some bars, repeating itself over and over. Can you produce a full song without using the computer? If yes, how do you build the structure of the song + using a mixer only that little screen?

Bro i need your advice I've been writing music on my computer all my life using Ableton and MIdi Key. It turns out that I can make a full-fledged track without using my PC, just just this drum machine + recorder for vocals and the ability to connect a synthesizer to this machine, right? Will I be able to create and record on this machine from beginning to end my track and send it to mastering?
@Bonedo-Synthesizers4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it should be possible although I find it way easier with Ableton and its arrangement view. It's a different approach. If you like the MPC's workflow - go for it. Also keep in mind that the MPCs still aren't capable of disk streaming. So your track can't contain samples and audio tracks of more than 800 MB in total. Although they say its internal storage is 2 GB, it's way less as they don't tell you that the OS itself already takes over a Gigabyte. Plus, the system gets slower the more storage is being used. You can work with it though if you adapt your workflow to the MPC - in the past, they've created whole albums with way less internal RAM on MPC 2000s etc. But coming from Ableton myself, I found it to be too unintuitive for producing whole tracks due to all the hidden submenus and limitations. It's a great unit for drums and MIDI sequencing. But for creating whole tracks I'd use another solution. Again, that's just my personal opinion. It could be great for your workflow.
@vladsafronov59524 жыл бұрын
@@Bonedo-Synthesizers I completely agree with you about Ableton, every time various restrictions stop me, that’s why I began to look closely at the hardware + it’s much more interesting to write music using only live tools, although I’m not sure that the effects can not be avoided. I heard that you can also install an SSD drive inside. Thank you very much for such a detailed answer. I will definitely return to you when I buy it, I think I may still have questions.
@Bonedo-Synthesizers4 жыл бұрын
@@vladsafronov5952 you can install an SSD but unless Akai doesn't manage to implement Disk Streaming this wouldn't be a real advantage imo.

Hard to say as both units have different concepts. Live is more for the use on tour or for those who don't need CV / Gate Outs and the dials. I'd see the X more in a Studio environment, MPC Live is better for live performers and travelling due to its dimensions and weight. Also, the X's screen is slightly bigger and the Displays on the dials are really useful when using it without a Computer.
