That piano sound and reverb combo sounds so much like final fantasy (x)

I've used the built in waves on my s1100 and s950 on MANY sounds. also, Ran the s950's into the novation bass station rack to add weight as a sub osc.

the stock waveforms of this sampler are so good, but they all have this weird aliasing clipping sound on the attack, can never even really get it to come out even with filters/envelopes... especially noticable on the sine when you have long releases and a lot of tones going on, but also on saw and other waves

i would like to hear these dry, because i am worried that the stunning 200 verb has flavoured them a little to tasty!!! man i covet the reverb!

Are the sawtooth/square/pulse internal waveforms bandlimited? Did they generate more than one waveform sample across the keyboard range? That's how the Korg DSS-1 did it, one waveform per octave with each one increasingly bandlimited to avoid aliasing as you went higher up the keyboard range..

no..but the interpolation is very nice. much nicer than other samplers

Thanks Paolo! I'm hoping to snag one of these at some point. I just learned of the factory ROM waveforms from Espen Kraft's new video. Tho I had used an s1000 extensively in the 90s, until today, I had no idea there are ROM sounds! I'm not surprise$ that you've already demo'd them. Do you know if the later models include these waves? Like the s2000, s3000 series, s5000/6000?
@SynthManiaDotCom8 ай бұрын
Very welcome! Yes, typically they have them in ROM as "test" waves

Hey Synthmania! Great vid as usual! Just wanted to ask if it makes any difference to have velocity and aftertouch with the S1000, or does it predate that technology? Cheers!

Suprisingly boring sounds form such a known sampler. It sounds very polite,warm and thats it.
