This is my absolute dream setup, but I have no clue how to set this up... I've been creating sounds entirely manually and sending audio to my audio interface instead. And my drums, I chop up on ableton... What software are you using to get the midi data also? Is it built into your DAW?

using Tone of s950 for sub yeah? Is so, are you shaping it at all? sounds like its got a nice tail/release to it. Great work - tune sounds sick bro.

I used the s1000 for sub, sampled Roland tr-8s 808 kick with long decay. I also used a pitch sweep 808 from jungle warfare. Glad you like it, cheers!

can I ask what are you using to send midi to these devices from the computer?
@underjordrec2 жыл бұрын
One midi port on the Steinberg ur22c, I have since upgraded to a Motu midi interface w 5x ins+outs. Wouldn’t say it’s necessary though, as long as you put the anything with drums early in the midi thru chain

@@underjordrec oh cool thank you, motu seems to be a popular choice for audio and midi interfaces

Would be better to illustrate it somehow, but midi wise it’s all connected in a chain. Interface midi out > s1000 midi in S1000 midi thru > s900 midi in S900 midi thru > m1r midi in M1r midi thru > jv1080 midi in And so on.. A good idea is to connect anything where the timing is important early in the chain, as the timing gets sloppier after the signal has gone through multiple devices and wires. Every device needs to have their midi channel set up, I usually use ch1-9 for the samplers and 10-16 for synths. S1000 can be set up per program, the synths in their global settings. Now you can control these separately from your daw by selecting the midi device your using and respective channel. For the audio, the samplers have assignable outs, s1000 has one per program. I like to give them the same output number as the midi channel number to keep things simple. I then hook it all up to a mixer (in this case two daisy chained mixers, just using what I’ve got to get more channels). Main outs of the mixer are connected in to the audio interface, now I can monitor the audio in the speakers and also record it. Hope this helps
