Thank you Akai and Andy Mac for keeping my love for making music fresh with the intuitive workflow of the modern MPCs. I come from a 1000 in 2005 to the LIVE in 2018 and now the X SE! Each iteration has kept me inspired to continue making music. Each update have improved my process and now the plugins both free and paid, keep me in the box! I look forward to growing with my MPC!

Thank you bro. Same. When I filmed this with TnT, it was so inspiring seeing him so excited about interacting with hardware. The FL community are some of the most talented producers in the game right now then seeing them pick up the workflow so easy! You'll also notice how much they use the Pianoroll like FL. amazing insight.

@mcelf16811 ай бұрын
@DETERMINOLOGY definitely not a random statement. It was in response to another reply. Also, that was 6 months ago, so welcome to the party. BTW, the mpc was used for hip hop in the 80s and 90s for hip-hop. Trap is a fairly new genre, but you're probably not aware that other forms of music exist. To each thier own, as I stated earlier.

As a boom bap sample producer 17 years in.. When I do something like this…. Shit feels like I’m cheating. I’m using MPC Live 2.. this is Mpc live 1. This beat right here is literally a 5 minute cook up and it slaps
@Craftmaster3 Жыл бұрын
why does it feel like cheating?
@SDSOverfiend Жыл бұрын
@@Craftmaster3 Because I always believed greatness can’t be rushed in music. So when I see how quick the beat is made. It feels like I shortchanged the music. I be like.. nah man.. this felt too easy. Because of the difficulty I went thru to get to this point in the past. Doing boom bap, Chopping up samples, finding the stabs, looking for obscure loops, manipulating it for a melody to make something sound completely different than what it was is time consuming but fun. This is a me thing more than anything. Now you have music packs and the ability to do things digitally now than by hand and ear back then shortchanges the work. The only thing kept me grounded what that I was reminded by a close friend. You been doing this for 17 years. You damn right you make it look easy with all that exp. Sorry for the long post.
@Craftmaster3 Жыл бұрын
@@SDSOverfiend Nah bro thanks for sharing, Im glad you have a good friend with a wise perspective that helped you see how far you have come. At this point nothing should be a struggle as far as making rap beats for guys who have been doing it as long as we have.
@the_handsome_bear Жыл бұрын
U absolutely right. With the technology you can make a beat in 5 mins that would have taken 2 hours to make 20 years ago. It definitely feels like cheating 😂

One thing I’ll give akai is trying to reach the younger generation but akai needs to do better in a few areas.. better build quality on the mpc live and one and maybe collab with Rupert or ssl or black lion or any of those companies for better sonics.. if it did that then they would literally blow the competition by million miles.
@darthknowl9222 Жыл бұрын
Exactly!!!!!! Maybe even getting back with Roger Linn and improving on the sonics and make the MPC even better than it already is
@marcusx3605 Жыл бұрын
@@darthknowl9222 I think it’s ego tbh .. right there wrong for the betterment of product and consumers. People wouldn’t mind paying 2k -4K for a solid built piece of hardware with phenomenal sonics and richness..

What younger generation lol. When’s the last time a beat hit the world and blew the culture apart. That used to be 16 times a year. Now it’s been about 5-6 years since a single one ….. Gen Z took the ball and kicked that shit out of the stadium let alone fumbled it.
@marcusx3605 Жыл бұрын

Watching this video and TnTXD struggle to add events in Grid mode is a perfect example why the MPC standalone needs mouse support. I submitted this suggestion when the MPC Touch was released and I was able to trick it to allow me to use a mouse. I was told to write it up as a bug and the 'feature' was removed. :( This is the video where I tricked the MPC Touch into using a mouse: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHq5l6mebsuKgqs
@Craftmaster3 Жыл бұрын
there are other ways to add notes to the grid though, FL guys can use the step sequencer its faster than the mouse. If you need a mouse then you just need a computer tbh.
@JeronimoFury Жыл бұрын
@@Craftmaster3 The MPC has a Step Sequencer. The touch screen on an MPC is just too small to add events using your finger. A mouse would be better. And the MPC works perfectly along with a computer.....I would never use a computer without one tbh.

It’s not cheating homie it’s changing with the time or get left behind I felt the same way with doing at 1st but it was change to stay relevant or get left behind not our rules it’s the game a lot of the old producers are hating &mad but it is what it is!!!!!!!!

One of my most versatile tools. A lot of people expect too much from it, given that in theory, you can produce full songs on it. However, when you only focus on one or two functions at a time is when the real magic happens. Akai needs to step up their game though now that Push 3 is in the wild. Good news for us MPC fans. Akai if you are listening, I would love to see track delay compensation (Ableton style) for live sequencing, I believe mpc is a tighter sequencer than the Elektrons (groove-wise). Another suggestion is to update your sequencer to an eucleadian option like the Patterning app (best drum machine sequencer on ios) this will be killer for eurorack compatible live sets. These functions could propel the mpc even further now that many artists are evolving to live performances. 🕉️
