Thank you for your insight on the 12 mini. I might’ve mentioned it in your previous video but I’m trying to upgrade from a 7 plus. My battery health on it is at %79 and I’m definitely due for an upgrade. This makes me a lot more excited about pulling the trigger on it, especially since the form factor will be similar to my iPhone 5, which I miss using very very much. I just hope Apple doesn’t try to kill off the idea of smaller phones cause I hate using a big phone.

Even though I have really big hands (big as in long fingers and large palms), I love love love its size and the way the design allows me to use it smoothly with one hand. I'm not a power user so the battery easily lasts me 1,5 - 2 days, the photos are great (I come from android where the picture quality was better even though it's from 2017 lol...) but again if I wanna take AMAZING picture I just bring my vlogging camera with me. Watching your two videos have helped my anxiety about this change so thank you for that. I’ve watched other reviews and such talk about the mini but seeing someone in my shoes talk about it has really helped me put it in perspective. I love the 12 mini it’s honestly so tiny and perfect. I am a photographer too, I use my iPhone and a Canon DSLR to take my photographs. I got the 12 Pro Max the camera is amazing. There is not much difference between 12 mini and 12 Pro Max in terms of camera. But I’m gonna keep it for a while (knowing me imma change it soon 😂🤦♂️) I love the RAW images on the Pro models. The extra RAM comes in handy sometimes too. I’m a heavy user so my battery lasts a long time on the Pro Max. Also I don’t have an iPad I used to have one but I preferred my iPhone so watching KZbin or Netflix on this huge screen is amazing! I was really confused between 12 mini and 12 Pro Max, but they are both lovely! Your video is also very very good! I’d definitely recommend it to my friends if they wanna buy 12 mini. keep up the great work!

Hey I just got the pro max and now I’ve been watching videos about the mini. If you could only have 1 what would it be, the max or the mini ?
@MBN.74 жыл бұрын
@@stonertelevision For me personally I’d keep my Pro Max. The bigger battery, extra RAM, Apple ProRAW, brighter screen, bigger screen, extra camera, 10bit HDR and matte back (less fingerprints) are worth it. If these don’t matter to you, you could get the 12 mini. You already have the Pro Max so I’d say stick with it till the 13 mini or 14 mini come. You could probably sell your Pro Max and pay little to nothing for a newer iPhone mini. I’m 100% sure the newer mini (if they release them) would make the difference between the Pro Max and mini even lesser. Lemme know what you decide tho 😂

Thank you so much! That's so funny that you mention the iPhone Pro Max vs iPad. I actually took the opposite route, told myself that if I ever wanted a larger screen I should just get the iPad! The Pro Max and the Mini definitely each have their pros and cons. Totally comes down the use case!

Me too!!! The first thing I watched when I got free Apple TV+ (not because of an iPhone, I’m stuck with an iPhone 8 for the last 3 years, the anniversary was just a few days ago 😅) was Dickinson, I really loved the show, you should also check out defending Jacob and Little Voice, those two are really good shows too. Overall I don’t like big phones, but I do like a good battery so I’m planning on getting the 12 once the next phones are out so that I can save a little bit since I plan on keeping that phone for probably 3 years. The problem I have with my iPhone 8 is that because I took the first half of the school year of online classes (my schedule was almost the same as normal classes, just one hour less) on it, it seriously affected the battery and overall performance, it even needs like a whole hour (or even more, I haven’t counted the exact time) to go from 80% to 100%. So that’s why, if it weren’t for that I would wait until it’s probably 4 years and a half since I haven’t had too many issues with connectivity or the camera.
@akaKhanh3 жыл бұрын
I'll add those shows to my list! Thank you for the recommendations :) If the battery life on your iPhone 8 gets worse before you're able to upgrade to the new phone, I recommend considering a battery replacement from Apple. I'm fully convinced that the battery replacement on my 6S is what gave me another 2 years of use from it. Don't think I could have kept using it if it was still using the original battery.

@@akaKhanh Let me tell you my hilarious story. Like two days after that comment, my phone’s SIM card reader apparently broke or something and this Monday I ended up buying an iPhone 11 😅 The reason is because I wanted at least 128GB storage and I couldn’t buy a phone that was over 800 :( So it was a good balance, plus I’ve been loving the phone, especially the battery, no other phone’s battery has lasted me a full day 😅 And thanks for answering too!! @papik19654 жыл бұрын
If you loved the SE first gen and you can manage the cash , I’d definitely suggest the 12mini. In Australia where I am, cost $1200. But it also depends about shape and feel of phone. I absolutely loved the original SE, but the got swayed by bigger screens, so had the 8 and then the XR, which I found super, but just hated the physical shape of phone. (But that’s me). When 12mini came around, original style shape design, plus the latest in software/camera etc, that was it for me. My advice for what it’s worth....simply because you still using your SE, which means you tend keep phone for long time, definitely the 12mini:-).

What a fresh perspective and insight! First off, the way you're able to delay gratification and not inflate lifestyle unnecessarily, absolute props. I have a choice to get the 12 Mini 64GB at 99$ (I think my telco is looking to dump their stock therefore discounts) vs a 12 at $449. I have seen so many videos of people who have access to the latest and greatest tech and are not able to view it from a perspective of a person CHOOSING not to inflate their lifestyle unnecessarily. 12 Mini 64GB for me it is. The "unspent" monies goes into AAPL stonkz. :) Keep up the good work!

Hahaha thank you. I just want to say that I'm not an angel by any means 😆 I definitely spend my fair share of money, but I just try to save + invest where I can! Totally agree with your statement about a lot of folks who are so ingrained in the latest and greatest tech not seeing the "regular" person's perspective. I found that the less I watched the newest tech reviews, the less I felt FOMO about not having the newest phone/camera/etc. For so long I thought whenever I upgraded I would get the Pro for the camera... turns out, I'm completely happy with the Mini!

I did actually consider the iPhone SE 2020! (in red to be exact) I went with the 12 Mini primarily for 2 reasons - the mini is a tad smaller and I was curious to try the new iPhone design sans-home button.Value-wise I do think the SE is better (my aunt has it and likes hers!) but I figured for the price difference it was worth trying out.

the year free of Apple TV+ wasn't mentioned in all the other "phenomenal tech" videos I watched. That might push me over the edge to upgrade from my 7. Also glad the camera quality surprised you. I kind of debated the pro model as well because I like the idea of the telephoto lens... wish there was an option to have wide + telephoto on the mini lol; but the ultra wide will do.

Highly recommend checking out Dickinson if you're into those kind of shows :) Haha you know, I also thought the same thing about the telephoto lens. But I thought about how often I use the telephoto lenses on my primary camera and it's not often at all, so I got over that real fast 😂

Hi Gavin! Thanks so much! The mini is definitely hand friendly. Unfortunately it came out after the SE 2020 and too many people got that first and ended up hurting the sales of the mini. Hopefully Apple doesn’t completely abandon the smaller iPhones just yet and make an iPhone mini 13/12s this September.
@akaKhanh4 жыл бұрын
+1! I was just thinking about this. I was *almost* one of those people to get the SE 2020, but I was too stubborn then to replace my 6S. Really glad that I decided to wait. Would've had major purchase regret. Wish Apple had waited to release the SE.
@Cristalks22444 жыл бұрын
@@akaKhanh yeah I was the opposite. I was too stubborn to wait for the 12 line and ended up getting the SE 2020. It’s great and I love the home button even more now due to mask wearing. The battery is horrible though and really can’t handle heavy usage but I found that a mophie battery case works as a great companion for the SE and can last and maybe outlast my XR usage wise.
@akaKhanh4 жыл бұрын
@@Cristalks2244 I think for what it's worth (I haven't looked at head-to-head comparisons myself) but there's been a lot of complaints about the Mini's battery life as well. @Cristalks22444 жыл бұрын
@@akaKhanh yeah mophie does really good work with their battery cases. It does add bulk but the trade off is well worth it. Plus it’s one of many that has an on/off switch unlike apple’s battery cases. I’d have to agree with you, it can probably outlast an iPhone 12 or 12 pro with the mophie. lol

I have an 11pro max as my main iPhone and the 12 mini as my business phone. I love them both. The 11 pro max is way better for watching videos all day because the sound is better, the screen is bigger, and the battery still last the longest out of any iPhone ever. The 12 mini is the best iPhone to use when I’m out and about. It feels way more like a phone unlike the 11 pro max. The camera is almost identical to the 11 pro max. I also have the MagSafe case and wallet as well and it’s perfect for the iPhone mini.
@akaKhanh4 жыл бұрын
What a perfect combo. The best of both worlds! How are you liking the magsafe wallet? I've been curious about it, but not enough to spend the $$ for it haha
@MrLazlness4 жыл бұрын
@@akaKhanh It’s very nice but that being said it works fine if you don’t use cash or you use a money clip as well in your other pocket. You’re limited to only 3 cards so you have to choose wisely. It is perfect if you want a minimalistic feel with your iPhone mini. They would sell a lot more if the price was $45 rather than $59. The leather feels amazing and the magnets is super strong if you’re using a MagSafe case with it as well. If you’re just using the phone bare with the wallet, it might come off.
@akaKhanh4 жыл бұрын
@@MrLazlness Thank you for letting me know! Yeah, I still like to carry some cash with me everyday. And exactly like you said, I think I'd be more inclined to "try it out" for $45, but $59 seems like a bit too much commitment haha

Nice! I just got mine and I totally agree, hard to find a fault in this phone. I'd actually love to have something even smaller than this one, 4.7" was the last screen size that I've felt fully comfortable with, but still this is the best you can get right now when it comes to relatively new compact phones. I've upgraded from a 5.8" screen and even that 0.4" difference feels like a relief for my hands
@akaKhanh4 жыл бұрын
Most definitely! I honestly racked my brain trying to think of something I didn't like, but I really believe that Apple hit the nail on the head with this one. I'd be interested to see if Apple would go even smaller though, primarily b/c of the smaller keyboard + lesser battery life which already seems to be a point of concern with the Mini for some people.
@chirrion65104 жыл бұрын
@@akaKhanh They really did! Maybe if they made the phone a little bit thicker to fit a bigger battery... I wouldn’t mind, but I suppose most people would not be too happy about it. Still I do hope that the small phone trend picks up this year
