Nice review Alex, i just bought the V50 X, and i'm having mixed feelings over it, the biggest let down is the terrible audio from the internal microphones and this appears to be the updated firmware version of the camera, with a Novenber 1st 2019 firmware. The External microphone doesn't appear to be available in the UK, but the V50 Pro microphone is available. It's a nice looking camera shame about the poor audio, i managed to use and connect to the Akaso Go app, but when you download movie files via the app the quality is awfull, i doubt it's even 720p looks like VGA quality, there doesn't appear any way to choose the download quality to your device, it just says download or delete on the app so having to transfer files straight from the micro SD card to my Samsung Tab S5e and then they look decent.. Also managed to get the app to work on my Samsung Note 10+.

Did not notice the apps problem. Will try it out. The external mic just available for sales in end of 2019. So it might be coming to u guys soon, but China told us stock might be limited due to Covid19. Anyhow stay safe ! Cheers !

Good review :) I bought the V50PRO SE thinking it would be better. Its 1080 sucks. Also V50X has a horrible issue of audio and video going out of sync when you record for a few minutes. I believe V50PRO is a very balanced product!!

U need to get the new firmware for V50X. The older version have sync issue. The latest version solve the problem. Kindly contact akaso for the link to the new firmware.

Excellent comparison. Very helpful. Shame neither model has an option to set manual white balance. Regarding the remote control for the V50Pro; you said, it uses Infra Red. Just had a look at the User Manual on-line and it doesn't specify. If it uses IR I would expect there would be a sensor on the camera and in order to work an emitter on the remote has to be pointed directly at it. But again, the User Manual doesn't mention any such limitation, or identify the location of a sensor on the camera. I'd like to know if the remote is directional or not, and the effective range. Great review. I ride Enduro dirt bikes on single tracks in the jungles of Thailand, theres a lot of sharp up/down bumps like log crossing and large rocky sections and a lot of sharp left/right turns, and of course there are vivid colors with detail in lush jungle. The highest priority for me is image stabilisation so its enjoyable to watch, followed by detail and color. Which would do better, the X, Pro or Pro SE? Or should I look at the Brave range?

Both camera support external mic, but only can use the original Akaso brand. Pro mini USB, X micro USB

With action cams you wanna record footages for 1 hour or so at once and keep them for later , dashboard cams keep recording for long time so they come with external power supply and over-recording compatiblity, but you might only use it in case of accident or looking back things, so hopefully as rarely as possible. Different devices, different purposes.

Go for V50PRO as the battery last longer. On motorcycle, the vibrations are not that severe if u plan to mount it on your body

I would hate to pair the V50Pro with the Remote Control every time . . . however the Pro has the better colour rendition. I imagine the V50X colour could be "fixed" using computer editing software. I keep hearing about audio issues with the V50X . . . some cameras seem to have it working well (with external mic) while others are a complete washout . . . . I read its about poor quality control in manufacturing. How can I buy a V50X that works "out of the box" . . I'm in Melbourne Australia and would hate the hassle of having to send a faulty unit back overseas.

The new firmware of the V50X had some of the audio issue iron out. Voice not sync and the slightly louder audio been improved. Stabilization on the X are the best available

in my opinion v50x is better. besides the price is cheaper, v50x has a smoother EIS, perfect for motovloging. I will make this video a comparison before buying action cameras from Akaso. thanks, Fotosun

For motovlog... Better EIS is huge for u guys. Internal mic... Dont think u will care coz u will be using external mic for sure. V50X handdown as the choice for u

Hi Alex, How do you adjust exposure on V50X ? Frames facing sunlight directly front becomes too overexposed.

V50 elite advantage on the voice command remote control. Color are slightly greenish which i really dont like. Basically same spec which V50PRO SE. And Elite cannot use external mic

Why i bought elite is due to the PHYSICAL button because i do ride (well touchscreen is not glove friendly) and some time DIVE into the river. It was before v50x release. Now with the newcomers such as v50x(the best. EIS) and v50 pro se, can u give your opinion about the image quality out of v50 family which are v50(it is old), v50 pro, v50 elite, v50pro se and v50x. I bet it will help a lot for beginners to find their first action camera😁
