Thanks for making these videos. I'm just getting back into competitive obedience with my new dog and it's really helpful to see someone demonstrate each exercise.

Coming back to watch again because we got our CD this past weekend (Yay!) and now we are really going to zone in on our Open exercises (we have been working on them some already.) Your videos are awesome. I also want to share this video with someone who asked what we will be doing next.

@@BaebeasDogTrainingPortlandWe got it about a month ago! We’ve done four legs so far - 191, 193, 195 and 193.5. We’ve signed up for a few more legs and are working on Utility. We were invited to the Classic for Novice. I’ve moved on to watching your Utility video. I’m so glad you’ve made these so I can have a clue what I’m doing with my Novice A dog. I’m a visual learner and these videos help me a lot. It’s so nice of you to put this information out there for others.

Coming from the IGP world, I have a question on handler's hand position in open vs novice. Does the left hand need to be at the waist or can you keep your hand at your side as in IGP? The rule book says either, but it didn't specify which classes that was applicable to. Just wanting to confirm it's for all levels.

we're JUST trying to finish our BN now (and RI) and off-leash heel is so hard. We're working on it. We'll get there. But we can do half of this right now lmao. At least I know that when we have that off-leash heel super solid (he gets about two steps ahead then tries to fix it) we'll be ready to move up pretty quick.

Good luck! Try my competition heel video. Once I got my dogs to look up our scores improved dramatically.

How much weight does the dumbbell has to be for a 13 pound dog?
@BaebeasDogTrainingPortland2 ай бұрын
@@MG-oj6im dumbbells for AKC obedience are pretty light weight. I use plastic. My 9lb dachshund has a dumbbell that’s only a couple ounces.
