These horses are beautiful and exceedingly rare, they need as much publicity as they can get. This video is a wonderful way to get them out there and show so many wonderful examples of the breed. I've gotten the chance to work with and train an Akhal Teke Stallion named Jack (PieterXDynastia) and I can't help but wonder why before this year, I hadn't ever heard of the breed before. youtube really didnt even have much for video! So now I post video of Jack and I riding whenever I can!

The horse of the turkomen, the Mongal horde knew of them, the Raj inherited them in their horse lines, this is the horse that swept into Europe, across the Steppes, a horse of endurance. Gentle and loving and prized... sleeping in the tents and with the people... even the stallions were / are considered less aggresive than the Arabian or Barb... I consider them the Siamese cat of horses. .. Loving people ... curious, lively, willing and full of heart...

To those saying that these heavenly horses are "turkic" or "turkish" horses: they are not! Akhal Teke horses are one of the most ancient breeds which historically belong to Teke tribe of Turkmen people (modern Turkmenistan, where people do not fully consider themselves as "turkic" but "turkoman"). Anyone claiming otherwise should get some information from reliable and proven sources.

This horses is the oldest pure breed horse, the chinese call it "heavenly ore golden horse" this turkmen horses was ancestor of arabian and lot's of horses. Turkic people in central asia breed this horse, this nomadic people bring them to agypt the turk soldiers " mamluk" and from them came arabian horse breed. The Ottoman empire gives England 3 horse, so the stardet there modern englısh horse breed, one of them was " Beylerbeyi Turk", her was a Turkmen Akhal teke horse

The Turks came from central asia, the have the best horse and dogs. Turkmen and Turks are brothers and in Turkey live lot's of Turkmen Nomadic people. The Ottoman have the best horse, so you can see the fight 700 years with the best horses ;)

@MTYLTT You should really try and see one in the flesh. I have had 2 other horses before I bought my 'Teke cross. (3/8 Arab, 1/8 Quarter, 1/2 Akhal-Teke). I've never experienced a bond like I've had with my mare. There is nothing else in the world like them.

@breyergirl247 Yes, indeed. My friend did sell that horse to a lady in Redding, presumably your aunt. But it is the same horse. I was with her when she took that picture. The round pen she is trotting in in that picture is at my friends place. She bought her from Page Creek Ranch in Takilma, Oregon.

+quijote1950 they are the national horse and symbol of Turkmenistan there are only 3000 of them and each one can cost as much as a Ferrari.

This breed is about 5000 years old. These are Turkmen horses. On different are called heavenly ARGAMAK. Akhal-Teke participated in the creation of the Arabian horse, Indian Marwari, English thoroughbred and many other breeds of horses. There is no breed of horses older than Akhal-Teke.
