Language is not a problem, I speak 0 japanese and I managed just fine. It's impossible to get lost if you have at least two functional brain cells, and if you go to a restaurant you just point at the things you want on the menu. If you happen to stay in a hotel in the middle of nowhere like I did, where they most likely won't speak nor understand a single word in english, just hand in the reservation and you'll be fine. If you want to be polite just learn the very basics, like "thank you", "I'm sorry", "good morning/afternoon/night" and that's it.

Sunshine city is the most convenient if you're staying at the connected hotel. You have access to various restaurants, bakeries, a grocery store inside the center and a nice 24 hour grocery store just across the street. In addition to the 24 hour convenience store inside the hotel lobby. I hope that Pikachu cafe is still there once it's safe to travel again.

Haha my friend and I were there in March and we were actually on that floor when who we thought were normal girls approached us and tried to invite us to thier "church to pray" they gave us a pamphlet that when I looked up it's actually super common to be solicited by these people in Ikebukuro. What was terrifying was that their "friends" followed us to the Tokyu Hands next door, scary shit man.
