For anyone, like me, who will be coming back to this video to take notes on each Pokémon Center when planning their own Japan trip, I pulled some timestamps starting at around when each Center section begins! (Though you absolutely should watch the video first because there is some 10/10 travel/food content in here.) 1 - Hiroshima - 3:54 2 - Osaka DX - 5:52 3 - Osaka - 8:09 4 - Kyoto - 11:44 5 - Shibuya - 14:28 6 - Mega Tokyo/Ikebukuro - 16:49 7 - Tokyo DX - 19:34 8 - Skytree Town - 21:15 9 - Tokyo Bay/Chiba - 24:16 10 - Yokohama - 29:00 11 - Nagoya - 32:03 12 - Kanazawa - 34:44 13 - Tohoku - 36:51 14 - Sapporo - 38:43 15 - Fukuoka - 41:43 16 - Okinawa - 45:15 But seriously, Orange, this is insanely impressive and you and Keren deserve so many kudos for planning and figuring this out! (Y'all really said "Gotta visit them all!") From the video editing to the music choices to the narration, this is so well-done. It's very cool to remember the early days of XY to current LPs and videos and see how you've evolved as a KZbinr and as an editor - I'll always love and have nostalgia for when I first watched your stuff, but genuinely it's so cool to see how your voice (in terms of script, not actual speaking voice) and editing style has grown and changed throughout the years. So glad you got to live out your dream and have such an incredible journey - thank you so much for taking us along on it! And congrats on the Treecko! Would you ever consider doing a full Japan haul of everything you got, at least in terms of Pokémon merch? I'm just curious how much merch you guys ended up having to pack - I've already told myself I'm packing a second suitcase solely for souvenirs on my own trip (and idk if that'll be enough!) (EDITS: Just fixed up some typos and finished thoughts lol - this is why you don't write KZbin comments at 3 am...)

I actually visited all of them in June 2024, over a span of 6 days. Here’s my route if you’re wondering: Day 1: Tokyo flight to Okinawa, then flight to Fukuoka Day 2: Shinkansen to Hiroshima, then to the two Pokemon Centers in Osaka Day 3: Local train up to Kyoto, change a shinkansen to Nagoya, then to Tokyo (I COULD get to Kanazawa on Day 3, there used to be a direct train called Thunderbird from Osaka/Kyoto or Nagoya up to Kanazawa, but since shinkansen to Tsuruga, around halfway between Kyoto and Kanazawa, opened in March 2024, the direct train no longer exists and I had to get an express train to Tsuruga then change into shinkansen) Day 4: Visiting all the pokemon centers in Greater Tokyo, including Yokohama and Tokyo Bay Day 5: Shinkansen to Kanazawa, then overnight expressway bus to Tohoku (Sendai) Day 6: Shinkansen + Hokuto express train to Sapporo, then flight back to Tokyo

I’m happy to hear that you came to Japan again. Hiroshima Prefecture has a baseball team called the Hiroshima Carp, whose theme color is red. At the Pokémon Center in Hiroshima, there’s a Red Gyarados on display in honor of the team’s colors.
@MunchingOrange3 ай бұрын
This was actually my first time in Japan! Though I do want to go back already haha
@imhoned45323 ай бұрын
While that is true, I think the Red Gyarados in Hiroshima was chosen for other thematic reasons as well: the atomic bomb. In the original plot, Team Rocket caused a Magikarp to evolve through waves that impacted the Magikarp at the atomic level and forced it to evolve (through radiation). The theme is essentially a message about the manipulation and terror caused by humans in nature.

Loved this video so much!!! 😍 would have loved to meet you two! 💖 since moving to Japan last year I’ve only been able to visit the Pokémon Centers around Tokyo but as a Pokémon fan it’s my dream to one day visit them all like you did! some things I want to point out is that most of the items you saw were collections just released at the time you visited or previous ones already sold out at other stores, not exclusives (like the wakka de ikka, I basically have the whole collection cause I was obsessed last year haha), the exclusive items sell out pretty fast, sad you couldn’t find the ones at Tokyo DX, I usually always see the exclusive Pikachu plushies there. and there actually is a coin machine in the Pokémon Center in Shibuya, you just missed it 🥲 funny how I used to buy a LOT of stuff every time I went to a Pokémon Center last year when I still had my money but never got any of those coins lol and never made a shirt… also sad that Mewtwo was apparently turned off when you visited, cause it’s so cool that it moves and talks!! it breaks my heart that unfortunately I have to leave Japan for now and I only have a few weeks left before I move but I hope I can at least go see the new Tokyo Bay since I haven’t been there yet after the renewal… hopefully I will be able to solve my situation and come back next year, maybe even as a tourist for the first time so I can finally visit more of Japan! and of course the Pokémon Centers while I’m in those towns 😆 thank you so much for sharing this experience with us, can’t wait to watch the rest of the journey on the other channel! maybe we’ll be able to meet in Japan one day 👍🏻

30:55 Fun Fact: Because Turkey or Ham is nearly impossible to get in Japan (since Turkey and Pigs aren't common in that country), the closest Japan can get in terms of meats during the holidays is Fried Chicken. So when the manager of the first KFC stores in Japan noticed how children loved him dressed up as santa claus and gave out kentucky fried chicken, he had an idea in 1974 to market a campaign, followed by a jingle of "My old kentucky home" ingrained into the commercials to have KFC's Party basket chicken be made every christmas. So for us, getting KFC in Japan is akin to us americans getting turkey or baked ham during the holiday season. Although we end up eating turkey more on Thanksgiving than Christmas so.

This was such an amazing video and journey to watch. Traveling to another country and not speaking the language sounds intimidating so congrats, I'm excited to see future your adventures.

I remember back in 2016, when they were distributing all those event gift pokémon and I traveled everywhere to get it. Once I went to Hiroshima just to get the Halloween Gengar. It was like a $500 trip for it amd it alone. Still worthy, though.
