Japanese voice actors are so passionate. That original American dub is just horrible. Im amazed the movie got so much succes using that. It almost turned into a joke... They did a better job in the newer version. At least they were trying to act. I don't get how people can prefer the original dub since they clearly just read a script and didnt care about anything else like syncronizing mouth movement. Nostalgia I guess...
@Gadget-Walkmen

The Pioneer version didn't just "did a better job" or "least they were trying to act" they ACTUALLY did a fantastic job and an amazing vocal performance for the film. @@Gadget-Walkmen The Pioneer version didn't do "a fantastic job and an amazing vocal performance for the film. They did a lousy job and boring, phoned-in performances for a product created solely to enhance sales of the DVD. I saw both versions for the first time in 2007. I saw them practically back-to-back and spent way too much time comparing them. Trying to dismiss praise of the Streamline version as "nostalgia" is a bad, dumb, rubbish argument. I've been told that these type of caracters are the most "profitable" in the industry. Screenplays target the most susceptible teens\young adults, as they are the ones who can relate the most with these (we all have been through this,I'm sure...). And most important of all, teen consumers are the most demanding ones! That's why there are so many contents made to this audience.
