I was going to start buying and displaying cels, but then found out that light eats the paint (especially black lines) and decided to pass.....I still bought a few. Then decided to get a few dougas...then realized they would yellow and fade the more I displayed them. So now they sit in a closet where I occasionally look at them like buried treasure. The act of seeing them is to aid in their destruction, brings a tear to my eye.

bought dougas and cel in France back in 1992, cel price was 5USD and Dougas were 3 to 4USD I own only 5 cels and 15 dougas (small comic shop in Angers wich ahad already been stormed by previous collectors), but it is nothing compare to that collection in the video. I only own one Tetsuo douga (pan) from the scene before first attack on Kay I also own 6 dougas from the underground scene (flying machine getting shot by Kaneda to save Kay) In Paris a shop was selling a cel with original background (Tetsuo after escaping the hospital) for 120USD back then, could'nt afford it back then, one of a my deep deep regret as a cel collector (I own around a 100s)

@@TheOwnerofFightClub Congrats. That cel is worth close to $10K U$. I have about 60+ Akira cels I bought over the years including Kaneda on his bike holding the laser gun. The prices have just exploded over the past few years. Cheers.

I found my cel on ebay that somebody sold was selling along with the scene of Tetsuo killing the doctors in the hospital. I checked the storyboards and mine is the exact scene of mutant Tetsuo showing himself to Kaori

Those cels are being properly treated. Y'all see the the video of the two or three guys, moving the cells on top of each other, just sliding them around across the table, and man handling them? Not in anything protective, talking about how rare, and beautiful they are... I'll see if I can find it.

Français Benjamin ? Si oui je suis carrément admiratif de cette collection de la mentale ! Le magasin Katsumi en vendait quelques uns en 1991/92 et j'ai chopé les miens dans une toute petite boutique de comics à Angers où le boss avait des connections dingues, malheureusement quand j'ai découvert ce magasin la plupart des pièces avaient été rafflées mais vu les prix (20 francs le dougas, 30 francs le cellulo) je peux me considérer tout de même chanceux ! Quelle est l'histoire derrière vos acquisitions ?

(mais n'otn jamais révélé leurs sources)
