I almost teared up when seeing that panel of Piccolo waving at not only Janet (Pan’s teacher), but us audience too, and it that indeed hits hard. I loved how Toriyama stated long time ago that Piccolo is his favorite character. Orange Piccolo and Beast Gohan would’ve never been a thing had it not been for Toriyama giving them new forms. I appreciate Gohan & Piccolo’s forms even more now the more I see them. I thank him very much for giving both of my favorite characters justice.

Right. I thought the same exact thing. Kinda reminds me of Goku had waved “Goodbye” to his Family & Friends when Goku died in the Cell Arch when he got himself killed by Cell’s most Powerful Explosion Blast Wave & when Goku had went back to the Other World to leave with Baba after he fought against Fat Buu by waving “Goodbye” to them again even both Chichi & Goten. It’s also more like Toriyama became like Piccolo after he finished drawing his very last Artwork in his Manga Book & knew he would die soon this year in 2024/2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣. It’s forever really sad though of the fact that Dragon Ball Z History will never be the same ever again without Toriyama being on here on Earth🌎 anymore.

I've said it a lot; I knew Toriyama passing away would be inevitable, like that's just the unfortunate reality. But I never really thought about it much, that's just something you never do. Nor did I imagined it would be before I even enter my 30s. I always thought I would be like in my 40s of 50s before this man would go to God. It still feels heavy... RIP Toriyama.

Sadly, we will never know for sure. That said, Toriyama did write Super Hero and corrected that last panel, so we know Janet accepting Piccolo as he is and not caring that he calls her by her first name are things he intended. If Toyotaro went that route, I wouldn't mind since Piccolo is literally the only one of the cutrent Z warriors who doesn't have a romantic interest or significant other, and green boy deserves all the happiness he can get.

Doubtful. Man sounded really excited for Daima and was doing the designs for Dragon Quest 12. It's more likely just a slice of life scene showing Piccolo's growth as a character, to the point he could form a bond with someone outside the Z crowd.

I felt for a long time that Toriyama didn’t care much for Gohan ever since he changed his mind about him being the MC, and in some ways I still think that was true and that we may have gotten lucky that Akio/Toyo liked or wanted Gohan back to some extent. (He did seem to like how Gohan was used in Super Hero though and called him cool, so not sure if his mind changed a bit after the fact). But Gohan Beast, Super Hero and these latest chapters of DBS being some of the last things he did, where it even has Goku talking to Gohan as the future or new protector of Earth in his place someday..something about that just makes me feel a bit emotional, I don’t know why. Like he was making peace with the character, after all this time. Before the end. Not to mention the parallel feeling between Goku and Gohan/Toriyama and Toyotaro. Maybe he knew about his declining health at this time and this was somewhat intentional? Or maybe just a fateful coincidence. I wish we knew. And of course, Piccolo (his favorite character) waving goodbye being done by Toriyama directly just guts me. A sad but fitting goodbye.

In this chapter it really emphasize the passing down of the torch, just like in the Manga where Goku said to Gohan the earth is in good hand even when I'm gone, passing down The protector of Earth to Gohan, it also follows that toriyama is saying goodbye by passing the torch to toyotaro, just like the earth is in safe hand with Gohan same as the Manga & the future of dbz with toyotaro.

Everybody being "relative" to the same god-like power levels seems like nice table setting for the final Dragon Ball Super arc if it is indeed "Black Frieza" arc we are getting. They gotta make it a huge 24+ chapter arc and end this thing with a bang. Vegeta as the next God Of Destruction. Maybe Vegeta gets "one year" to prepare before he has to leave Earth for his new godly duties after destroying Frieza explaining why we get to see him in his normal attire at the end of Z instead of his God Of Destruction outfit. Have Goku run off to train Uub in the room of spirit and time before having to go babysit Zeno in Heaven for several years. Trunks & Goten join the Galactic Patrol and Piccolo trains Pan while Gohan continues his studies and defends the planet. The next saga should be some sort of reboot or re-invention of "GT". I would like to Toyotaro bring back the SSJ4 transformation but maybe this could be the form beyond Beast that Toriyama was alluding and hinting to. Gohan's final form turns him SSJ4. The next series should begin with Uub (& Gohan) as the main POV characters and occasionally feature Piccolo training Pan or Trunks/Goten out in space. Maybe Gohan has the opposite problem as Goku in that all he wants to do is study and spend time with his family, but some giant catastrophe or villain is always pulling him away. Whereas with Uub being young he's anxious to test himself in battle and there is no one on his skill level on the planet besides Gohan/Piccolo to spar against he will inevitably have to visit other universes to find worthy opponents to test his skill and build his story out further. Having Uub being the guy who actually GOES into the different universes on some sort of official godly business or story line (finding Dragon balls) would be amazing. It would be an entirely new story and any time they wanted to re-visit Earth (Gohan, Piccolo, Pan, Trunks/Goten) in the story for arcs they could but they could also just make this new Saga entirely about Uub facing off against *NEW* opponents and threats.
