This is the VHS opening to the classic anime film "Akira", the 1989 Streamline English dub. This is a reprint of the 1994 reissue, printed on 17/05/1996 according to the data at the start of the tape.

@@antster1983 The best in my opinion was 3x3 eyes and sadly after the initial manga UK run the rights of the anime went into different hands, they then redubbed it changing all of the voices and music.....broke my heart but I currently have all 5 original parts making there way to me via ebay, making it the first time I would have seen it in it's original form since around 1999 when my tapes were stolen.

Ohhh maaaan this promo for the Cyberpunk collection...I got the limited VHS box lying around somewhere. Genocyber was so fucked up to watch as a minor 😅 but Cyber City Odeo was the best of the bunch hands down.Yoshiaki Kawajiri never fails to deliver. Thx for the upload

I remember seeing this when I was 13. My friend brought Dominion Tank Police to school and watched together in 1998. I grew up watching anime in Arabic and Italian dubbed versions in the early 90s.

Why was it released by Manga Video when it was supposed to be released by Warner Home Video or MGM, considering the US release was released by Orion Video

It's weird to me that Project A-ko appeared to be in widescreen in the Manga Video opening. I think it's stretched for some reason :s To this day I don't think I've seen everything featured. I've seen Akira, Venus Wars, Project A-ko, Dominion Tank Police, I think I've seen Fist Of The North Star, but only once, whereas I've watched all the others multiple times. I also never got around to watching AD Police but watched the shit out of Genocyber and Cyber City Oedo 808.

A-Ko was a theatrical film and they used scenes from the theatrical trailer for the promo. AD Police isn't that bad and worth a watch if you can find it. I'm surprised you could watch Genocyber so much that was one weird and disjointed OVA only Makyuu Senjou and MD Geist compared in to how random the story went.
