Every episode is like a new experience. It makes me wonder how simple things actually are but we always end up complicating them... How simply chef Niki made such an amazing dish, how the chef of the most picturesque village remembers his mother through his cooking and how the italian man came to Greece because he had fallen in love but ultimately found his purpose of life in Greece. Life is strange... yet beautiful

The farm to table restaurant reminds me so much of my family's restaurant. This is the best way to live and the best way to eat.

love the herbs & tea store, I would have been buying each of her tea! I always buy all kinds of herbs & cookies when I visited Greece, it's easy on my luggage. Thanks for showing us how the olive oil is process. The guest house I was staying in Crete has a few olive trees on the way to the beach, but it was still very small & green in April, so I didn't get to see how it was process. The filling in the cookies "Loukoumi" looks like the "Turkish delight" candies, but I didn't know it can be melted.

Makrinitsa and Portaria are beautiful...Was there in 2018 amazing! Best thing is when you are at the beach in the morning and the heat rises to 34 or 35 C take a drive up the mountain to Portaria or Makrinitsa and you can enjoy a lovely 4 or 5 celsius drop in temperature and some fresh mountain air with spectacular views! like at 3:33 . Enjoyed an amazing galaktoboureko right in that spot.

The lady mentions in 5:31 that the Greeks of Pelion call Beta vulgaris(Chard/Σέσκουλο) "Pazia" as plural. I found it very interesting since it is also called "Pazı" in Turkish. This area was granted autonomy during the Ottoman Empire just like Agrafa and even the local Turks of Thessaly spoke mainly Greek. Amazing how language interact. Thank you Aki for finding this out. İnşallah you would come to Turkey to cook some common dishes!

There are many Turkish words ,or at least of Turkish origin, in modern Greek. Another interesting fact is parsley .Parsley comes from the Greek word petroselino which is still the official name in Greece yet everybody calls it maidanos from the Turkish maydanoz.

@@panos475 Γεια σου Πανό νομίζω μαϊντανό είναι από την ελληνική γλώσσα. In arabic they use the same word and write it as such: مقدنس/معدنس. I belive it derives from makedonision/μακεδονίσιον it would mean like it is a Macedonian plant and since Macedonia is Greek Arabs adopted that pronounciation. This strange phenomenon can also be seen in Kaldırım/Sidewalk.
It's perfect But in other countries Need Traslations!!
