The city of Cranbrook in British Columbia is an ideal place to start a ski trip. The city lies in close proximity to resorts like Kimberly and Fernie, along with other Powder Highway resorts. However, during the 1970s, Cranbrook once boasted its own community ski hill, Akloo. While it's lifespan was short, it served as an important learning area, and provided Cranbrook with an easy ski hill.

Cool video. Driving past Cranbrook, I always reckoned that mountain behind it would be a good place for a ski area. Now I know that there once was one, and that it was a terrible location.

Looked quite nice in it’s day, but it just wasn’t in the nice place. Would be nice to be a ski resort like COP.
