With a Stage title under their belt and coming off from an immaculate Stage 2 with zero maps dropped, the SF Shock were the team to beat in Stage 3 of the Overwatch League Season 2.
Not to be outdone, the Chengdu Hunters who've become known for their experimental playstyle and ability to subvert expectations went up against the Shock in Stage 3 Week 4 in a series that left fans on the edge of their seats.

I don’t like how this guy said that Chengdu doesn’t match up skill wise to San Francisco, that’s just plain false, they are arguably even more skilled the San Francisco but they are inconsistent and not as good at traditional goats. At the end of the day they won through teamwork which is essential in overwatch as a whole and Especially in the Goats meta.

According to Chengdu Coach Rui’s Weibo comment, Yveltal, as a main call, chose to use Reaper + Mei to play against Gladiators, which was the main reason they lost.

Look at the support synergies of Hunters. In the NYXL fight, while both Anas on the team managed to sleep the enemy team's tank, Kyo followed up with a nade that denies healing for Meko's Hog and allowing Lateyoung to kill Meko, turning the fight 6v5. And in the heat of the moment, Libero managed to freeze Yveltal using Blizzard but Kyo kept Yveltal alive using nade and nanoboost, denying Libero's chance to turn the fight 5v5. Kyo has also done this another time at Lijiang where he denied Libero's kill on Yveltal allowing to pop Sound Barrier for the team. At the same time, Yveltal peeled for Kyo multiple times (because Ameng's on Hammond, Elsa's on assassin DVa, and the other two DPS are straight up massacring meaning Yveltal is the only peeling for Kyo). Kyo and Yveltal make the plays in the fight against NYXL.
