Javed Ahmed Ghamidi is a Pakistani Muslim theologian, a Quran scholar, and an educationist. Mr. Ghamidi is a student of Maulana Amin Ahsan Islahi and Maulana Abul A’la Maududi. Mr. Ghamidi has authored several books, including the bestseller ‘Meezan’, in which he presents a comprehensive treatise on the entire content of Islam. Mr. Ghamidi is a researcher and a critical thinker who has challenged many aspects of the traditional Muslim schools of thought on the basis of evidence from Quran and sunnah.

Roots words in fatiha are fa ta ha while faith in arabic would probably have different roots.

@@iamfaisalsiddique Urdu is not the mother tongue of 95% of Pakistanis. Its "bunyadi" or basic only because its the language of communication in Pakistan. The original comment has some truth to it and has nothing to do with some one stooping to any lower level etc as you stated. If majority of Pakistanis have problem understanding his explanation than it is a problem.One of the reason might be that Ghamidi sb 's teacher,Amin Ahsan Islahi was born in Uttar Pardesh India.His mother tongue was definitely urdu. For non urdu speaking people in Pakistan, who study urdu as a subject uptill FA/FSc level, is nowhere close to the level of urdu Ghamidi sb uses. Its of graduate /post graduate level. Thats my personal opinion. No offense meant to anyone. Peace.

Sir, I want to convey another way of understanding the word Al-hamd in the context of the Surah, which is a great blessing in its own right, and/or in the context of entire which is an absolute blessing of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'aalaa, that again in both contexts, however the blessing reaches the humanity, either being written by someone or by oral mean anyone who is blessed or by any common human conveys it and they may have a value in the eyes of the receiver, BUT the greatest credit( Al-hamd) belongs to or goes to Allah, the Rehman, the Raheem, The only Owner of the Judgement Day. Without Him it was and is impossible that a single creature could receive a blessing as great as the Qur'an or even the Surah. More like the English definite noun. To what extent (if I really am) am I true to make this interpretation? Please let me know. Thanks.

I’m surprised that Ghamidi sb doesn’t consider BismillAllah… the first ayat of surah Fatiha, whereas many learned scholars have considered it the first ayat. Because that’s only way it will count seven ayats. Even Qurans printed in Saudi Arabia show it.

Bismilla is part of Surah fatiha as it is part of other surahs except surah toba, it isn't a inherent part of surah fatiha. Quran didn't invent name Allah, it was term used for God in pre islamic arabia too. (Ghamdhi sb)
