Thank you for giving these places the respect they have earned and for telling their stories as well as the stories of the people who lived there.

Thanks Rhonda. So many and not enough time to get them all.

@secondaryhighway but you are showing others the proper way to do this. And for the ones you have shown you gave them back their dignity. That's a high calling

What a shame this once beautiful & cozy home is in such terrible shape! She’s still got some character showing! Awesome video. 👍👍❤️🤘

Thanks. Amazing places. Left because too much money to pipe in water and electricity.

@@secondaryhighway Did they have any ways to find sources of well water? My parents lived on the prairies and had water, albeit smelling sulphurous and tasting like iron. 😛

Nice! I was wondering if you were going to go up those stairs! So peaceful...

The stairs ended at a drop, but the view was great.

It might seem reasonable to eliminate these old structures in order to farm more efficiently. But, can anyone understand that some history deserves to be preserved? These buildings represent hopes and dreams and incredible sacrifices. Who do you know in today's world that would have the guts to homestead in these places under those conditions? Right, NOBODY! Thankyou again Robert.

Hey thanks. Forced myself to get out and hit up 20 places this past week to film. It may be my last visit to some of those iconic places. And yes, some of these places are sketchy. :)

Including the upstairs that was a pretty good-size house for one person. Bet it was lonely when the wind blew!

I would love to know what it was like living back in those days!! That house has a good structure but the inside is falling apart so badly.

Yes, large inside and exterior holding up against that wind.

@@secondaryhighway My first response: Windy. Always wind, year-round, and bitter in winter. This is coming from one who had the luxury of central heating as a reprieve.

Was most of the land homesteaded in the early 1900s? Alot of houses built around the same time I noticed

Yes. 1905 Alberta and Saskatchewan became provinces and saw a huge immigration to the west.
