I've been listening to this man for more than 40 years. He never disappoints. His sense of rhythmic space and melodic "breath" is always startling. His variety of colour is genius. Not a note ever wasted for effect. A subtlety that can only come with age. In my mind the mark of true virtuosos - we know that at any moment they have the immense skill to explode as they did in their youth. But now they know the power of silence and the mystery of notes barely heard. I am not a musician, but I remember that in learning to become an actor he was my quiet tutor in internal pulse. The rise and fall of a phrase, it's place and intention.... and the physical repetition and practice it took to be effortless. Bravo, Sir.!

I love it when a guitarist lays back and just plays simple lines, and then zap like a bolt of lightning they burst out with and then possibly complicated 32nd note Riff. I like the idea that they just don’t play every single fucking know that they know all the time all day long. It’s like living beneath your means, right? You make $100,000 a year, but you budget your life so that you live on $85,000 a year.

Well I only listened to the first 5 minutes. I'm glad the title of the video claims he playing "Norwegian Wood", cuz I sure couldn't tell that from the music. With all the advancements in on-board electronics for acoustic guitars in the last 10 - 15 years, it's beyond my comprehension why someone still wants to play a carbon fiber Ovation?? Unbelievable. Sorry, but 👎👎👇👇
@fruitfly52262 жыл бұрын
Do you think it doesn’t have a great sound? I was never sure if Ovation were popular due to their sound or because they had some technology at the time that other brands didn’t.
@4acesjackdaniels7752 жыл бұрын
@@fruitfly5226 Ovations were one of the first "acoustic" guitars that came from the factory with decent on-board electronics that made it easy for a performer to plug into amplification. That situation has totally changed by 2022. I'm sorry, but there are many mid-priced and high end all wood acoustic guitars that I would rather hear than a carbon fiber guitar.
