I grew up as a young child listening to these artists.. I even sent JLP an email when I was 8 or so asking for advice as a young musician. He emailed back a long letter of encouragement. I haven't heard these artists in many years and hearing them is bringing tears to my eyes and a flood of energy to my heart. Thank you for this.

The next generation will see the recordings and think that there was such a tabla player in this earth. He has fascinated music lovers all over the world with all kinds of duets, solos and fusions. His love of music, sacrifice, penance, hard work, always humorous and humble behavior - many qualities will make him remembered as a glorious great man for ever and ever.❤❤❤

I once saw/heard a tablas player explain and demonstrate the technique of creating the different sounds. The sublties and nuances are breathtaking. The mastery of such inticracies is a wonder to behold. Then you have two hands and several instruments, a veritable symphony of percussive devices. हैरत (Wonderment in Hindi, hairat)

Stephane Grapelli [who I was privileged to see 3 times in concert in Cape Town] and Jean Luc have profoundly influenced my love for jazz on the violin. John M and Zakir are profoundly creative musicians. And to have this recorded in that Iconic venue in the vast, complex but beautiful Istanbul is just amazing.

I was wishing John and Zakir would do something together again. It is 2013, but still, close enough, wonderful. And with one of my other favorite musicians, Jean- Luc! What a pleasant surprise. Thank you! Supreme music by the masters of their respective instruments. Historical performance 🎭

It is amazing to experience "Lotus Feet" played again by those tree greats musicians. I often listened to this piece more than 40 years ago and it made me enter into a kind of mystical ecstasy that filled me with tenderness. Listening to it again after four decades is a powerful experience. It's like the portrait of my life. Thank you!

I was a teenager when I listened to this piece the first time at the time it was John Mclaughlin and Mahavishnu orchestra, I had this habit of listening to it every night before going to bed and it lasted 3- 4 years. For me it was the best version .
