Al-Farabi who lived between 872 and 950 AD, also known as Alpharabius in the West, was a renowned philosopher, logician, and musician in the Islamic Golden Age. Born in Farab, in what is now Kazakhstan, he is considered one of the greatest Islamic philosophers.
