The amazing thing about actors, especially Al Pacino, is how radically different they are outside of the roles they have played. He is a master of the arts. He really is

I must say this interview was extremely absorbing - I always liked Al Pacino‘s work (so soulful and genuine). In this interview, mr. Pacino comes off as a really nice man. We always wonder about that when we watch these people on the screen so large. Are they nice people in real life? I don’t know but I’ll go to lunch with Mr. Pacino any day of the week.

Pretty unique interview with an icon. It’s good that he is super comfortable with Al . Friendly style…I am a huge fan of Al. Incredible actor and he seems like family he reminds me of my mom and the whole Italian Sicilian side. Nutty and emotional and operatic

My inspiration and mentor! Thank you… Also, I loved the book! But if you can contact Mr. Pacino and tell him that on Page 197 there’s a mistake . When a psychiatrist answers a patient, it needs to be “No hablo ingles.” Otherwise, the joke doesn’t work.

It's so AWFUL when young people interview an iconic artist. He started the interview with I started watching Al Pacino in the 90s.. by that point his career was for the most part over. This is a great actor of the 70s.. the godfather 1 + 2, dog day afternoon and serpico was the period when he peaked.. and he was extraordinary. It would have been nice if someone in their 50s or 60s interviewed him. oh well..
@DickDickstein2 ай бұрын
yeah...I knew this interview would be mainstream. I find it rather sad that the NYT is so irrelevant now that they can talk to AL PACINO, and he is sharing a NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE, and they can't get more than 16k views? I only watched this to hear that. Gotta be interesting to hear someone that lives in modern day Sodom and Gomorrah has to say about "Heaven".

at 12min. mark, his point that "it's in the script" reminded me of heston saying there are scenes that are "no acting required" like when he raised his staff and 10,000 background actors start marching.

Lumet was mad at him for Scarface because he had submitted a realistic script with a story about the CIA etc and the producer Martin Bregman rejected it saying "it wasn't true" when it was true. Then he produces a dumb load of crap that was totally untrue.

I was excited to listen to this interview but quickly found the interviewer quite disrespectful to Pacino to be honest in many instances. Found myself screaming in the car, why are you phrasing it like that! The whole dance monkey bit and asking him to read a line 3 different way… like cmon! It’s just not something actors are comfortable with. It’s cringy to us. He’s talking about finding the truth in his work and your like perform for me.. show me what you got Pacino.. (and I get that the interviewer was trying to be all buddy buddy with him and keep it light) I just found it in poor taste.

I must say, I love Al P. And his perspectives of acting and personal development, but he seems as if going up a flight of stairs may be nearly impossible, so going the distance for procreating would be quite a feat. Also, it is arrogant to have a child at his age - for the benefit of the child, with monetary endowment aside. When asked if having a new child at his age was a way of coping with his mortality, he gave NO ANSWER, a non-thinking response. It’s disagreeable.

Why do an interview with an actor who’s doing his best to mimic Brando in his later years? What did we learn about the guy that we already didn’t know? Nothing.
