"I was afraid of the role" - what an honest admission. I doubt many actors would ever confess that.

I never saw Michael Corleone as a villain.

He's not a gangster. He's just a son, a brother, a husband, and a father... a man protecting his family from powerful people trying to hurt and kill them. It wasn't really about business. It's family. It's personal.

He had the perfect look for the part. He looked suitably boyish being the youngest sibling in the family, but at the flick of a switch he could stare into your soul with cold menacing eyes and ignite with explosive rage as Don Michael.

Al was so good in GF (1&2) that you feel there's Al and there's Michael, they are not the same person.

I met him after a play in L.A. - you never know what to expect from a superstar, he was GREAT. He was nice and took a picture with me (2 pictures), the camera jammed on the first shot so he waited for another. ATTICA!

I love Al Pacino. He should have got an Oscar for Scarface but wasn't even nominated. Every interview I have watched him in he seems so nice. It seems the bigger the star the nicer they are. That rhymed! But it's true.

Michael was very intelligent, gifted with an inclination for strategic thinking, political maneuvering and a cold, calculating disposition that allowed him to operate in volatile situations. He understood how to wield power, and this ability drew him in little by little. The best example is the plot to kill McClusky and Sollozzo. All the seasoned criminals in the family thought it was impossible, but Michaels keen political mind saw an opening to bend the narrative using the family’s newspaper connections, making it a viable option. Additionally, he knew Sollozzo would never suspect him of pulling the trigger - keen strategic thinking. He was the only one to see the opening.
