I don't know that Glengarry Glen Ross is underrated. Last I checked it was fairly heavily rated.

That's the name of the Series... but I agree, not "Underrated" by any stretch; just not as well known to the general public.

It's not commonly talked about as his best work (though i wouldn't put it above godfather either) but it's far too good a film to get talked about so little

Jack Lemmon was also brilliant - probably his finest performance as well.

And his cameo performance in Short Cuts was incredible.

It is remarkable that Al Pacino is in real life the exact opposite from the very tough and sometimes ruthless characters he usually portrayed

Anyone that's ever worked commission sales can vouch for the accuracy of the portrayals by all the actors in this brilliant movie.

Yes, especially with the number of times people in sales quote Alex Baldwin's Always Be Closing scene...

Completely resonate with every way you articulated the brilliance of this film. I made similar comments about Pacino and this film years ago but you've extrapolated it even more completely than I could. Well done. This film is such a casting, performance, and dialogue masterpiece. Nothing else quite like it.

What also makes this film great is how accurate the portrayal of commission based sales jobs is. I worked various sales jobs throughout my life and have experienced these situations. For example, when Shelly is given a lead that the manager knows has bad credit, and he wastes his time selling it, only to find out the reason was "Because I don't like you." I've been there.

Few actors have the power to use their eyes to convey inner motivations well as Al Pacino does in this movie gem...

A rarity in Hollywood. A truly star cast at their peak. And the dialogue is razor sharp. This one has been an unforgettable experience since 12 Angry Men.

We seem to have forgotten what "underrated" actually means. Glengarry Glen Ross is hardly underrated.

Not sure if I say it's underrated. I love the film and the play. Based on conversations I've had, I'd say that it is underSEEN.

Great film and great performance by Pacino, though his performance in The Godfather will be looked at as his best to me. Went from a man who never wanted anything to do with the family business in anyway to being the head of the family business and the transformation he takes in that film alone is phenomenal, but his performance in Glengarry Glen Ross is extraordinary as well. The film itself deserves to be talked about kore as the performances alone are excellent by everyone. Thank you for the video, take care!

As one critic put it, while everyone else in the cast is trying to figure I it the most imaginative way to say “Fuck you,” Pacino understood the cadences of Mamet’s language to the syllable.

This entire film is a masterclass in ensemble acting. Pacino, Lemmon ( a virtuoso performance), Spacey, Harris, Baldwin, Arkin...each one standouts. Not under rated at all

Glengarry Glenn Ross was far from underrated. Yes, Pacino was great in the film but his acting skills were well-defined before this.
