for people who are surprised that AL Snow is very knowledgable in this video, he's in the business for decades, that alone is enough, but he also owns OVW, one of WWEs developmental territories. The guys with the most knowledge and outlook on the business are pretty much always guys who never went past mid card level. There are rare exceptions but for the most part it's true, as those guys have to get that knowledge and experience as they aren't the most naturally talented or charismatic. The whole idea was stupid. was meant to make wwe guys look OP and sell wrestling but they expected the young guys to just lie down and sell (which was essentially the test) but never told them that so pride kicked in and people defended themselves. they thought that would win the contract. selling the beatdown would have scored more points but you needed to give them a heads up lol

Here's how I would book this. One night on Smackdown, Kurt Angle and Hardcore Holly start beating up Daniel Puder, and then "WHAT DOES EVERYBODY WANT?" Al Snow comes to his aid. This leads to a tag team match at No Way Out. Puder & Snow vs Angle & Holly. The Finish, Puder puts Kurt in a Key Lock, Kurt (realizing that the ref isn't gonna bail him out this time, since Puder's shoulders were NOT down and he was NOT pinning himself) TAPS OUT!!!! What better place to have this match than at No Way Out, cause there was no way out of that key lock for Kurt. After the match Holly tries to attack Puder, but Al Snow knocks Holly out with Head.

He wasn’t supposed to get Kurt into a submission in a damn amateur style wrestling match. Locks and submissions are illegal in amateur style wrestling. But overall, this was a stupid idea and the TE guys should have been told you’re not really trying to beat Angle… Probably Vince’s fault.
@lylaznboi01
@lylaznboi01 9 ай бұрын
It was technically on Vince and partially on Kurt too. It was Vince's idea for Kurt Angle to do these shoot matches with some of the contestants, but he also recommended to not pick Daniel Puder. Angle, being the person that he is, probably saw it as a challenge and picked him. The last thing he probably expected was to be put in a key lock and nearly have his arm broken right after coming back from neck surgery. Puder also had a huge ego coming into WWE, so he was stroking his own ego for having Angle in a submission, even though the match was an amateur style wrestling match, meaning only pinfalls. I do agree with Al Snow on this that these two events happening made no sense. What made sense on Al Snow's part was having the Big Show do chops instead of body slams.

Kurt shouldn’t have went ham and injured the dude he wrestled before Puder. Puder was defending himself and had every right. Angle wanted a shoot because he had a chip on his shoulder about being a tough guy. Well Puder obliged and may have broken his arm if the ref wasn’t there

Wait, I’m confused on something. He won the contract for a million over four years, but offered him less than what the contract says during the second year. Isn’t that a breach of contract? He was suppose to get 250 grand per year.

Vince McMahon is a legend, but also a slime ball. He knows how to write the fine print in a contract to save himself money, but still legally be allowed to call it a “million dollar” contract.
@CrashOverride100
@CrashOverride100 4 жыл бұрын
Late to this party, but legally they could offer him a new deal every day if they wished, just up to Purer whether he takes it, and a lot of contracts have an 'out' written into them, even a contract for a regular 9-5, and either Puder or WWE decided to make use of it.
@wordexclaimed7364
@wordexclaimed7364 4 жыл бұрын
CrashOverride100 yeah pretty sure WWE used the out... the contract was designed to draw interest but I’m sure there was an out for every year of the deal... if Puder works out and becomes a megastar WWE got him locked in at a discount but once the deemed he wasn’t worth another 250 they could save money with a new deal

When the young guys had to cut promos on Big Show, they were all talking smack. At the time, I was hoping one of them would ask Big Show to team with them. "Big Show, with your size and strength, team with my youth and hunger and the two of us could rule the WWE!"

Puder should have taken that second contract. Not enough money is a big whoop imo. That second contract could've given him the experience he needed. Snow even said they saw potential in Puder. But all he cared about was the money. Not the life.

Wrestling is staged storytelling like a normal TV show. They were shooting a scene in which an Olympic gold medalist schools some rookies. So yes. Puder should have let Kurt Angle beat him up. Just like in a kung fu movie the freakin' random ninja goons aren't supposed to try to legit shank the protagonist to make themselves look badass. It's like you're saying it would be okay for some random extra to just attack Jon Snow in a sword fight scene because "Oh Jon Snow attacked him he should expect to get attacked back."
@BigBeerus
@BigBeerus 3 жыл бұрын
@@cheezeofages kurt had just broken another contestants ribs. Non kayfabe. Those were shoots. As al pointed out using fancy words they were relying on kurt being an olympic gold medalist to beat these kids. Puder should have snapped his arm like a twig. He could have easily with that kimura.
