I really appreciate Al's take on the "no-sell" cancer that has killed Pro Wrestling. I think of Jackie Chan movies when Al talks about in-ring work. Jackie gets over in every movie he's in because he sells the shit out of everything. He also never dominates fights, he gets beat up terribly by the merciless "bad guys", but eventually makes the improbable comeback that we root for. It's incredible that the new gen only sees the big spots, and fails to make the big spots matter.

Really good comment! Yes, I love Jackie Chan movies and that's a big part. He gets hurt and we want to see him succeed and he does it in innovative ways, but he isn't doing it by no-selling what's happening to him. I don't know if Pro Wrestling can do a 'reset' and got back to selling those 8 things so that when the amazing athletes do MORE then it is far more impressive and unique. Maybe not. But ya never know.

and Mick Foley, he's been hit by so many crazy things that a head butt is probably like a tickle to him these days.
@Z3r0h3x7 жыл бұрын
Actually if you do a headbutt right you don't ring your own bell. You don't want to swing your forehead forward like you usually see, that's how you hit hard bone on hard bone. What you want to do is get your head low (bend knees/waist) and then thrust forward and upward so you hit the guy's face with the top of your head, you hit soft parts with the hardest part. Lethwei (bareknuckle muay thai with headbutts) uses this to great effect and some boxers illegally sneak these in when opponents get too aggressive.

Ironically punch finishers make total sense in lieu of what Al is saying because their punches are treated like fight enders and are different than everyone else's

Watching AL-SNOW teaching how to wrestle just makes me wanna respect the business even more. To all the bitches that say Wrestling is fake, take a look at how Wrestlers are trained, you'll take your words back.

Al’s in great shape man.

It would be good for the trainees to answer Als questions. Hes asking one guy a question straight up and no response. In Al Snows mind hes probably thinking "are these idiots even comprehending what im saying?

Best wrestling video I've seen in a long time. Boy do I miss Gorilla Monsoon. When commentating he used to call out illegal moves, even karate ! Did you know that kicking an opponent when your foot is not flat in a stomp was illegal. The referees used to admonish wrestlers for separating fingers, and stretching the mouth. Yes the punch was always illegal until a couple years ago. Wrestlers were required to use a forearm or an open hand strike. Look at videos of wrestlers in the 70s. Now you have Roman Reigns and others closed fist punching at will. No, it's not believable, it's not even wrestling.

I wrestled the independents around Ohio/Michigan from 2003-2012. Did an Al Snow seminar around 2008 changed my entire approach to wrestling. Side note sounds like the bar he mentioned should sell tickets for fights 😂😂

Dick Murdoch and Killer Karl Kox. When those two got together, the "punches" were flying hot and heavy. But they made it look good. and sometimes...if somebody wasn't playing it straight, and they needed to make a point, they would MAKE that point.

It's just like how 4th line forwards in Hockey are the best coaches. Al Snow was a 2nd liner in ECW which was real good & impressive👍

Al takes 4 hours to get up from a single nut shot? Are his nuts made of glass?

kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYOnaGdmfqqGpLs A fighter (a fat shitty one for freakshows, but still someone that gets punched for a living) gets kicked in the nuts full force, and even though he's wearing a cup it was bad enough that the fight had to stop and he ended up hospitalized. Al's exaggerating for effect but don't underestimate how bad a dick kick can be.

Most people haven't had a direct intended hit to the nuts, so no his nuts aren't made of glass. The unintended glancing blows that you've probably had in your life are not going to disable you for more than a few minutes, but if someone was to intentionally hit you as hard as they could right in the gonads you would be paralyzed for a very significant length of time, and still feeling the pain for hours afterward.

I was once punched full force by my cousin when I was 13 years old while we were fight and I had to stay in the fetal position for at least 2hrs cause in so much pain could not stand on my feet, and after I was able to walk was still in extreme pain and couldn't stand up straight ,pain lasted 10hrs before it went away

No, his nuts are probably made of testicles and whatever tissue/blood/muscles that comes with them. Legitimate nut shots hurt, feel free to try one.
