@HicksZ34 Not sure how your comment has anything to do with what was said. Nobody is talking about safety or the chances of surviving a plane crash. The comments were about how painful the process of flying is due to all the steps needed to go in and out of the plane. The chances of surviving a car accident are much better and yet more people die each year from car accidents than plane crashes due to large amount of car accidents compared to plane crashes.
@pedromillie5 жыл бұрын
@HicksZ34 You just proved my point that you are more likely to get killed in a car accident than on a plane. Just like you can't control anything on a plane, you can't control what drivers around you do. You can try to avoid a car or truck heading towards you but there are limits to what you can do plus sometimes they come unexpected.

Met Al Snow in Tampa Bay, my dad was coaching the lightning in the NHL and took us early from school to meet some of the guys who were around the teams dressing room. Met a bunch of them but Al Snow impressed me the most, and this was the height of his “head” gimmick so I thought he was a nutcase. Couldn’t have been friendlier and nicer. Answered questions, asks my dad questions even said he was a big hockey fan. Wasn’t the biggest Al Snow fan before we met him but I’m a fan for life now. Complete class act, well spoken and articulate. Glad he still looks and sounds well.

He is giving the abridged version to how business in general works (pretty much the same thing any business seminar "guru" will say) just more toned to entertainment and/or entrepreneurship. Create a product (in this case yourself)...Figure out and exploit why you stand out from others like it (in other words, make yourself stick, get sticky)...Campaign it like crazy. You deliver (and create the demand) for something people didn't know they event wanted.

People dissing Snow for being a jobber...don't get it. Al never had the "look" to get over as a main event guy on the biggest stage, but he could make the higher card guys look like a million bucks. Al had to figure out how to get others over rather than just himself, which naturally gears one to coaching. And these people draw money by supporting. what made the attitude era great? Every person on TV had a defined character. People would mark out for Val Venis, The Godfather and fucking Kaientai. People cared about the undercard...so when the top billed guys came out, the energy was insane. Where every guy is trying to play a face /prove their word is good by winning, and doesn't have a unique shtick, there's no momentum in a show. everything blends, everything looks and feels the same, and after one big moment happens, the crowd is dead for the rest of the show... Breezeango getting over in the undercard/midcard keeps the energy up for the top guys. Their match with the Usos made Backlash seem like a better ppv than usual...Owens and AJ was a better match, but you always get an AJ match at the ppv. and everyone else is trying to have an AJ Styles match. so why but it on ppv? Why buy a ticket? Well, if you had a roster full of guys trying to sell the gimmick, and their schtick, maybe AJ Styles could be himself and that would be more special than it is now. Because right now, being the most athletic wrestler on the planet isn't as distinguishing as it used to be when Jushin Thunder Liger first got famous... Wrestling needs more support guys. More characters. More Marty Scurll's, more Fashion Police, more anti-flying Drew Gulaks, more "Gentleman" Jack Gallagher, than ever.

Fans actually cared about the middle of the roster and that's something that's completely lost now! In the attitude era, everyone, and I mean everyone, were reaching for that brass ring! Now? You've got a bunch of athletes who are just happy to be on TV

There's no video on here anymore of it, but he was on Chael Sonnen podcast you could probably find, he explains there hasn't been a jobber since the 1980s. I jobber with somebody who literally did it as a job they would come to TV take things once a week get their butts kicked go home they didn't go to any of the other towns on the loop. Or if they lived in one of the other towns it's somebody they would use as a substitution. Guys you would put on the card who could actually have a match and go around the horn and make people look good while losing was a carpenter.

Al Snow is a genius. Interesting story about Brock Lesnar was one of the reasons he left the WWE wasn't only the money but it was being on the road. It was taking a toll on him and he said he was going through a difficult time of anger and depression. He would say being on the road all year round was not away of living. You felt like a caged animal. Now that he is with the WWE, he would only come back with a reduced schedule. Meaning he comes back 15-20 days a year to WWE events. He can do that because he's a main draw. Everything he's done in the WWE and UFC makes him far more marketable then other wrestlers. Not many wrestlers are gonna get a deal like that. You have to be a main draw to pull that off. Perfect example the Undertaker. He wrestles one match a year and gets paid $2 million dollars a year. That's power. One match a year and he gets paid for that. He's earned it because there will never be another Undertaker.
@Zoolander8246 жыл бұрын
Michael Tardi my counter argument to the Brock Lesnar being special if he is sooo special he could show up more to live events and ppv because that's not gonna take away anything from his marketing and how special he is also Taker only wrestles once a year because well he's aging and getting a little slow in the ring but showed he can still go this year

8:33 If I knew nothing about wrestling in 1999 and I was flipping through the channels and came across Rock, Austin, Foley, or Undertaker in the middle of a promo, I’m sure my curiosity would be piqued enough to stay on that channel for at least a few minutes. These days I know very little about WWE’s product but if it were the same scenario in 2020, none of their current talent would catch my attention. I would continue flipping right on past the channel to find something better to watch. Like Terminator 2 for the millionth time, or sitcom reruns. I know because it’s actually happened more than once.

You wake up in the morning, get ready for work, have to sit in traffic driving to work, once at work stare at the same computer for 9 hours then sit in traffic driving home. Get home, have dinner, maybe get an hour or 2 of free time then it's time for bed. Rinse and repeat the next day.

2:57 I love Al Snow. He's the only non-rookie wrestler I've ever known who has called it, on multiple occasions, for what it truly is. So many take this shit way too seriously. Even when you've been in the ring with them, they will still take it very personally when you have this realistic view. They will actually want to fight you for it. Shit, just look at Bret. You would think he designed and paid for that belt, with how long it took him to drop it. And even then, they still had to do a snatch and run on him. It's fakey-fake phony-baloney made-up bullshit, so losing means nothing, and winning means nothing. So imagine the walking conundrum that is the average veteran, who's never too embarrassed to lose a fake fight, never too embarrassed to get a trophy for winning a fake fight, but for some reason is always too embarrassed to admit it was a fake fight. You would think, of all of the things involved here that absolutely requires a serious attitude, you would think they would be aware that the belt is the thing they should be taking the least serious. And yet they treat it like they're a mark. They're their own mark watching themself. /rant I guess I just had to get that out of my system. Like I said, I've met a lot who took it way too personally.
