Maybe 9 rounds in that cylinder. Again, how big do you want your cylinder on a rimfire? S&W runs 10 rounds in their 617 K-frame in 22LR. Magnum runs much higher pressures and is a tiny big bigger diameter casing.

@carminemurphy4836
@carminemurphy4836 2 жыл бұрын
A semi-automatic firearm is a dynamic type of firearm, it must feed from a magazine, then feed up a ramp, chamber, fire, extract and eject successfully, whilst there may be fewer parts, success in a dynamic firearm is fraught with difficulty and could be problematic vs a revolver. A revolver is a passive firearm. It utilizes a cylinder, so no feeding or ejection takes place, bad scenario: a squib load (no powder) lodges a bullet between the forcing cone cylinder gap, tying up the revolver, by that point requiring another firearm, or revolver. Worst case scenario, the bullet lodges into the barrels rifling, allowing another round to fire, exploding the firearm.

The KISS principal. Revolvers are a great starter gun for 1st time shooters. Also great for home defense. Especially in .38 or 357 mag. I always believe most gun owners need at least 2 revolvers. 1 in .22 lr or mag. and the other in at least 357/38 cal..

Some of the FFL retailers in SE Virginia carry Rock island autoloading pistols and the inexpensive 200 series revolvers. The newest R.i. revolvers have not been in any of them. Now during the scamdemic and civil unrest period of shortages, none of the dealers I've shopped at will order any standard cataloged firearm from any manufacturer. .22mag is excellent for older people or those with arthritis where recoil would prevent the owner from ever practicing or even having fun vs being in pain for practicing. Plus, it's all about placement and with me, I'm far more accurate with a .22mag than any 9mm. So ramp up stress in a difficult situation and in that moment I'd want the easiest firearm that works. Now if I'm in Russias woods and a remote cabin and a bear is coming at me then I'd want a .357 but if I'm 90yo and living in an urban apartment, I'd rather have a .22mag for precision shots, and the least amount of over penetration.
@timrobinson6573

Because rim fire cartridges require a more forceful hammer blow to reliably detonate the primer, the revolvers that shoot rimfire cartridges have heavier hammer springs and therefor heavier trigger pulls. This can be an issue for people with arthritis or weak grip strength.

Good safety recommendation. 22 mag is a great round with great penetration, if you need that. .38 can be a great carry gun if you don't want penetration. When would you want that? Depends on ammo, your target and use. I like a slow moving .38, it is more accurate at 50 to 100 yards. Anything inside of that is MINE at less distance, with the right ammo.

A quick look today in mid-February 2021 on the Armscor site does not show any .22 revolvers at all. The DA pull is necessarily heavy on rimfire revolvers due to the spotty ignition power in DA mode and the dirtiness of rimfire ammunition- the cases don't always seat well after a few rounds due to the dirt left behind, which moderates the firing pin strike.

What's funny is when they were still being imported by Czech Point these were like $360.

I think all guns matter. I love revolvers too. I have several including a 22WMR, and Rock Island is a favorite brand.

I would honestly buy an American made Ruger before I bought this one. Ruger makes a hell of a revolver.

@Gormm I own several and none of them have anything at all like that stamped on them. My most recent is a Ruger SR 1911 it had made in USA on it and every single high quality part in and on it is 100% American made. Not sure what you are talking about and I don’t think you do either.

I bought three complete duds in a row from Ruger. SR1911, stainless Vaquero (and blued), American bolt-action. I won't get into specifics, but I will not be buying or trading for any Ruger firearms - especially ones made after 2017

@@clintford6716 No, I sold the American, traded the 1911, and was reimbursed only for the Vaquero. They sent it back repaired worse than it was to begin with

This frame fits holsters for K/L/M S&W frames like a glove... I own such revolver (stainless too with the same barell length) in 9PA and I use a BlackHawk leather holster...

Looking at the video comparisons of the S&W k frame and the ria gun the latter almost seems to be closer to an L frame, at least by looking at the video!! Nice revolver, great review!! Stay safe and God bless 🇺🇸☠️🇺🇸!!!

how can an optic be mounted? A 6" with a top strap like the old Colt Diamondback would be great.

This make a good do it all gun for some people It's be good for pest control, small game hunting, plinking, teaching people to shoot, good gun to take camping, and if you use certain ammo it'd even bee good for self and home defense as well

Appropriate for any occasion. Color is straight. Very fashionable. Masculine. Friendly fire. A mans best friend. Nice gun. I smell the quality. It is what Smith and Wesson could have been... Eastern European.

Alfa Proj has been around for a while now and has a solid rep but the main importer is Czechpoint. And Czechpoint is almost always outta stock! Like, even before this seeming apocalypse started they just seem to lack the ability to meet demand. Hopefully Armscor will be able to get a gun into the holster of everyone that wants one. Hell, hopefully Armscor will move on to include other Alfa Proj offerings as well! Having one of their wheelguns in .32 long would be fun.
