They’ve been doing some refurb work on a couple of sirens of late, so possible this one might now be repaired. Will be going up in July to have a look hopefully!

and also the siren at the hospital is a non-shutter siren and probably wasn't a CS8 at all. Here's a video i found. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZ69emShaal3ask and it can't be a CS8 now as they're discontinued

Are your sure? Old photos of the hospital show it was a CS8 before the rebuild. The first photo on this article shows the CS8 up a tower in the grounds www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/staff-looking-after-notorious-criminals-6399260

Plus to me that video you sent sounds like a CS8 with jammed open shutters; I doubt they’d replace the old siren if it worked.

@@al66class59 in different days the sirens have been moved about. Ravenstruther used to be in a military field now its at a hall. Siren G was at the other side of Carstairs . That one might be the West End one but who knows 🤔

There’s always been nine. I *think* I know where in the hospital grounds the siren now is, but I’ve been unable to go north and confirm it myself.

Awesome for us maybe, but it’s a bit unreliable at times. CS8s have been out of production since 2004, so I doubt it would be replaced by one.

@@hmsirensandfirealarms star delta is programmed but it shouldn’t be/probably isn’t programmed to take 25 seconds to enact itself. Rampton only takes 5-10s to convert, if it converts at all, but the timing doesn’t fluctuate, unlike Ravenstruther which is very inconsistent in when exactly it changes
