I have 2019 sl63 and waited two year for this model come to buy it but when I saw new model I was very disappointed. Hard top is gone replaced with soft top which looks cheap and not tastefully designed. If I buy this thing all I am getting is new electronic interface. Why would I dump 200k to buy this electronic interface I will be better off to install iPad and call it a day. Hopefully Merceds brings back hardtop convertible until then my 2019 sl63 would have to do.

Why would they? The soft tops gts out sold your SL by a huge margin. That's why the new SL is really a new gt roadster. Btw why are you older SL owners so insufferable? Jealousy. Plain and simple. It's the new price tag you can't afford.

@@jackmarston2515I'm not. - It is my opinion and for sure: this SL is crap. Go drive one - and please buy one if you think it is not. I want to have a nice pure car and not a hunk of computer crap. I can't stand it and I have owned every chassis model of SL over the years since 1962 I've had 2x W113 - 4x R107 - 2x R129 - 1x R230 and 2x R231 - All very nice and classy cars....It would be nice if they could make a 'retro ' version of this SL without all the navigation and crap and especially that godawful screen. This new dumb looking and annoying ipad thing is just nauseating. I will not muck about with it. I will keep my 2019 SL550 forever I guess. Not interested in any of the new cars really and I only put about 1500 miles per year on it so it should last a while. It's like a digital watch... Soon- hopefully- designers will come back around to creating nice things and not tacky crap. Or at least give us an option. If not - no worries. I don't need to buy anything.
