ALABAMA COTTON GOING IN GROUND

We had a great day on the farm today getting started planting cotton. We actually had no breakdowns can you believe it. There is some drone footage at the end of the video if you like watching those clips. Hope you enjoy the video and THANKS FOR WATCHING

I like that high speed tiller. I’m from southwest Georgia so I’m used to seeing cotton. They strip till the ground there for it. Do you do that for cotton?

We have a plow similar to a strip till called a paratill you may know what I’m talking about. We just never had good luck with strip tills, thanks for watching 👍😁

When planting. Do you drop the planter in the ground slightly before where you want to start you rows at or no? Im asking because i see your end-rows(boundary rows) cross paths. Does it disturb the already planted seed or double planted or what? If that makes sense. Thanks

Good question each row on the planter has electric shut off motors so there’s no overlap, the planter looks like it planted into the end row but there’s no seed right there, thanks for watching 😁👍

Daniel, does the gps in your Rogator run through the steering valves? It looks like a system I’ve looked into only instead of through the valves it’s controlled with replacement steering wheel

I know it sounds goofy but there’s a Victoria’s Secret perfume you can spray on the back of your shirt collar and it absolutely keeps the gnats off you (if you don’t mind smelling like a woman lol.) I’ll have to look when I get home and see what the name of it is.

Is the reason you spray diagonal to your rows so you don’t compress the entire length of a row and hinder crop emergence, or because the layout of the field makes it easier for the Row Gator?

It’s because we paratilled (deep plowed) the land last year which makes it real soft beside the rows. It’s impossible to drive with the row until the ground gets back firm again, thanks for watching 👍😁
