It's not about liking him it's about the rules that were broken at that time. Now they need to hand Bama 2 or 3 more natty a couple.of heisman trophies and a ton more money because Bama paid a player to get in trouble now its legal. The punishment was given when what he did was against the rules. Shouldn’t matter if the rules are different now, he isn’t under investigation now. When I was a young man I served a career in the military. Now I’m a civilian and no longer subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Does that mean that any early troubles I had in the service should be expunged because now I’m not subject to the UCMJ ?!?! No. I was punished for something that I did against the rules and even though I’m no longer subject to those rules, the punishment stands. RTR

There should be a statue of limitations. Although it was wrong there is no proof he would have played somewhere else and he still earned it on the field. He was a teenager not someone earning a humanitarian award.

A statute of limitations would be if he’d done something all those years ago and it was never discovered at the time and then found out say 10 or 20 years later and should he be punished. This case was different. Yea he had incredible skills and potential and absolutely showed out on the field. That doesn’t make what was done right. Rules were broken and punishment was handed down. When the rules changed they made it legal for people to do that stuff now, but that doesn’t make it any less of a rules breaking when it was done… RTR

I was thinking the exact same thing. They changed the rules? ?? Seriously? But hey, I don’t mind it. The guy was unbelievable with the ball in his hands. I remember when I was at UA and broke. I couldn’t imagine having the discipline to say “no” with somebody dangling that carrot in front of me. I’m glad he got it back. His play on the field earned it. He made a mistake. However, I DO think the ncaa is trying to save a little face and get on people’s good side. Gonna take a little more to bandage that NIL wound. That thing is infected and won’t go away.
