Fountain, b-tone, so apparently you never marched because they did no pregame here. SU band in their seats at home games BEFORE the opponent. Our Pre-game is announcers and the SSB. Pregames are different but usually the same. Did ASU perform on the field? Ceremonies?What?Homegame simply means at home and the band sits they ass down first and play the Star Spangled Banner. Now what do you mean by pregame? And what did ASU band or announcers do or say thats different? I'll wait for your response.

Actually I did march Trombone, Spartan Legion 1989-1991 pre-game is just that..its whatever your band does prior to the start of the game. Some do play the Star Spangled Banner some do small shows. This was clearly BEFORE the game so its the pregame. All bands don't operate the same. I am sure you're smart enough to know and understand that.

+Mahthias Fountain southern wants to be the best but they are lazy. 1. They perform the same exact precision drill at every performance except you use different music. 2. You dont even do a pregame performance, you'll just go into the stands blare the national anthem and wait for halftime. 4. You say that every other band copies off of you but you can't be saying that, at least FAMU actually had a band director credited for creating marching techniques used by bands all over the country. Now that's where your wrong buddy! Southern doesn't want to be the best.*THEY ARE THE BEST!*All bandheads, and fans know that! SU didn't just apply that reputation to themselves! It was earned fair and square! Southern earned the reputation through hard work, dedication, and maintaining a consistent winning band program. CONSISTENCY is "KEY"! Southern has a winning recipe which has proven successful for decades! That recipe includes SU arrangements, young gifted arrangers who are geniuses, SU ability to play loud powerful songs maintaining balance, and dedication to providing those amazing precision drills they're well known for. Dr. Isaac Greggs contributions to the marching band arena goes unmatched today IMO. The majority of the high school bands today prefer to mimic SU. You see them all, especially on KZbin. Other bands in love with Southerns trademark style of march, which includes the Head Throws, Jag Swag, and Raising the Instrument on accent 8. Southerns trademarks are used by the masses today, and they're considered to be part of what we now call "Show Style" today. SU unique ability to go out and drill the games half-time score is embedded in the minds of many across the globe. That one particular trademark alone places SU on a whole different level above the rest. It still has that shock(OMG) affect on new/old fans. Due to SU unique trademarks, the Southern University "Human JukeBox" marching band is known as the #1HBCU collegiate marching band in the country. NCAA ranked SU as having the 2nd best collegiate marching band in the country, only 2nd to Ohio State! As a matter of fact, Southern is the ONLY HBCU collegiate marching band to make the NCAA list on a yearly basis. Now Google and check that shit nigga! I think you were referring to me. Our campus and stadium look better than SU's and JSU's. Alabama State is #1 in the nation in graduating black teachers in America and # 3 in graduating blacks in mathematics and statistics. Look it up in the bureau of labor and statistics. And our band is good too. That's why you are on here looking.

My point is that our band is good. One of the best in the SWAC , and our university is excelling where it matters most, educating and graduating future black professionals. It's a GREAT time to be a HORNET!

SU didn't punk nobody. They sat in the visitor "hoe seats" where they were suppose to sit. The grand side is reserved for the HORNET nation! Our stadium is the best of all the HBCUs!

The seats ASU band were sitting in weren't grand at all so stop lying. ASU had to stand out there on the field and wait until the Stars of the show were seated first in a grand section. So in essense Southern definitely punked them out by taking the best seats period in their own stadium

ASU band definitely seemed lost or maybe they were just scared because they had to face The Human Jukebox who are ranked #1 in the nation per USA Today as well as NCAA. SU THE ONLY HBCU band in the top 5 and they're ranked #1. I guess I'd be scared as well going up against a powerful band like them. Southern drilled the hell out of their field. I know they had to patch up a lot of holes after SU exited that field. SU band ate them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Yes ASU have a nice stadium but people don't come to watch the stadium. That night they witnessed how The Human Jukebox punked and destroyed ASU with that precision drilling. ASU didn't rush back to their seats after their show so SU ran 3 songs on them. Trust me, after that they just wanted Southerns band to leave and fast.

And our stadium is the grandest of all the HBCUs. Southern's stadium has always looked sub par to me . People are hating because Alabama State has come up. Bump a band anyway. In the real numbers that count Alabama State is #1 in graduating Black teachers in America and # 3 in the nation in graduating Blacks with degrees in mathematics and statistics according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics. These are numbers that really need to be celebrated.

ASU should be applauded for such an educational achievement. Southern should be applauded as well for drilling a hole in that grand stadiums field. I know yall fans were like DAYUUM after witnessing The Human Jukebox live on their field. ASU band must have felt so ashamed. But they shouldn't because after all, that was the #1 ranked band on their field and there wasn't anything they could have done. Sometimes you just can't compete with a band like SU. They're on a different level. SU is the only band that can go out on the field and drill the games halftime score. ASU can't compete with a band on that level. Its not there fault.

You can't even compare the two, they are two totally different things with two completely different origins. Plus more people pay to watch a traditional style band anyway. Victor before you even comment know that HBCU is not the correct teen when talking about hbcu bands. They fall under the category of traditional style bands.
