Crazy to me how EVERY year commentators/media put SO much emphasis on team's performance against the nobody's. Then they act surprised when teams struggle vs the real competition. The problems you pointed out with Nico, Milroe has the same problems. He holds the ball too long, he's not good at throwing receivers open, he still needs improvement on the intermediate throws. There's no slant passes, which used to he a staple in Bama offense. He can run and is dangerous with the deep ball. Those downfalls are what keeps Bama from sustaining long drives. Bama can score quickly, and sometimes, that is a negative instead of a positive. Look at the second half of the Georgia game. Georgia made adjustmen, Bama's offensive play calling became stagnant, and Georgia almost pulled off a miracle. Vandy controlled the game, and Bama lost.

Yes it seems like sometimes when we without a doubt need to make adjustments at halftime that nothing happens and it looks just like the first half except without scoring 20 points! I personally just don't think our QB has the ability that most people praise him to have! Holding the ball to long is just about the worse thing a QB can do besides throwing INT which holding the ball to long can certainly cause all kinds of bad things happening especially throwing INTs! Just saying.

There's a third way a defense improves, especially when the entire structure has changed. Experience/Understanding with/of the defensive scheme itself. Guys are playing with their brains (thinking about where they need to be) and that tends to slow down the defenders and put them out of position. When you don't have to think about where you need to be (because you already know where to be) then you play faster and more aggressively. This has been Alabama's biggest issue this season.

Such a tough game to call with both teams struggles in recent weeks. I trust Alabama more in big games, I trust Deboer and Milroe more than Heupel and Nico, but Neyland is an equalizer. I think Alabama finds a couple more explosives than Tennessee and wins 31-26, have no confidence in this pick though.

Yes, it's a pretty big loss, but we are pretty stacked at that position and have other veteran players who can be the green dot. Actually pretty excited to see some of the young guys rotate in as I am sure it will be replacement by committee.

A 3,3,5 defense that Alabama will try, Tennessee will eventually break this defense vertically. This will happen, Tennessee will do just enough to move the chains early on, then the flood gates will open up. I have Tennessee running game will dictate the remainder of the game, dylan sampson will have a field day long with deshaun bishop. These backs will stretch Alabama's defense, then the north and south game will balance the passing game. I have Tennessee winning this one very big, Tennessee 41 Alabama 10. The x' and o' just tell me this as you mentioned Vanderbilt? The commodores did this throughout the day when they beat Alabama, The Vanderbilt commodores just kept Alabama off balance enough to stay 1 step ahead, Alabama was lucky Vanderbilt just wanted to win, it could have gotten uglier than the final score.

I guess I'm old, but back in my day (heh) fans didn't rush the field anytime you won a regular season game and you were the underdog. I'm exaggerating but that's what it seems like now. This past week, I saw 3 or 4 instances of fans rushing the field. Maybe ... MAYBE if you win the national championship, but even then, as my dad used to say, "act like you've been there before".
