Jim McEwen I totally agree, some of the offense’s play calling were questionable calling back to back screen passes behind the line of scrimmage on top of back to back run plays when they had 46 rushing yards in the third quarter. I know it’s important to have balance but when they are giving you the vertical passes and taking away the run and horizontal screen passes, take what they give you. Especially in regards that the game could’ve been a lot closer if it had not been for the two field goals Texas a & m had to take in the red zone.

I think Bama struggled alot today, well more than usual, but Alabama always has these type of games , and it always leads to something better. Tua hasn't had a snap in the 4th qt, Alabama has played alot of players so far, and I have no doubt Bama just played one of the top 10 teams in the country, and Bama will be tested more down the road. If Alabama had the rushing yds today like they had today the game is coming down to the wire. But what do we have now? Bama is an elite team when you look around the league, especially yesterday, at some of the other top 25 teams. This is a classic view of what makes Coach Saban the best in the business. Week four is not the time to be giving individual accolades. I knew when they scored and didn't "finish" he was going to go into the locker room and his post game presser pissed off. I'm sure the players and his staff thought they lost that game by Coaches reaction in the locker room. I also know Coach doesn't like it that they were not able to run the ball effectively. I have loved the TIDE all of my life and if this team wants to grab the schools 18th ring, they need to get one hell of a lot better. The most important thing to takeaway from his comments was TOP and the number of offensive plays. He hates being on the both side of each. RTR..

@dpas8696 жыл бұрын
OK, tell me if I'm wrong for feeling this way but, coaches always tell their players to play for 60 minutes, it's a 60 minute game. If that's true, why do coaches "call off the dogs" after a certain time of the game? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that they should leave their starters in, in a blowout. What I'm saying is, why just start running the ball on every play? Jimbo called a timeout with like 5 seconds left in the game to try to score. If I was a coach, I would continue to try to score as long as the other coach continued to try to score. The announcers said Jimbo was trying to get his team work for the rest of the season, why shouldn't I do the exact same thing. I'd put my back ups in and I'd continue to throw the ball as long as the other team did. I think Jimmy Johnson said it best when he said "I can't help how the other team played, I can only worry about how my team plays". I'd want to get my back ups all the experience I could executing the playbook in a game situation, just in case I need them to play at some point, regardless of what the score is. I wouldn't be upset if a coach did that to me. To me, that's just coaching. Am I wrong for feeling that way?

There is plenty of room for improvement for this team. "The Process" is what Jimbo was trying to demonstrate to his players at the end of the game. We're a VERY good team, but not yet a great team.

A pro line would literally destroy Alabama's line. It would be men against boys.

Love this team and Saban, but what he said at the end is a little contradictory of himself. He hates when the media asks him about the negative plays his teams make, but goes on to say he wants them to focus on that more....so he wants them to hone in on that stuff but not ask about it? I'm confused. Either way Roll Tide!

It was awesome hearing the majority of the crowd boo A&M for trying to finish their final drive. Might have a damn good football team, but also have a bunch of classless fans.

Did anyone see how close Jacobs came to letting that ball out of his hands before crossing the goal line today? That would have looked really bad. Why do players do that?
@GuessTechSports6 жыл бұрын
Saban is right -- Alabama has some issues.. and at least in one area a MAJOR one. I may talk about what is NOT right with Alabama this week ;) Alabama could use a week of 'constructive' criticism. While Texas A&M is in the upper part of the SEC for SURE -- Maybe even as good or better than Auburn/LSU (imo) .. Alabama is going to have a game or two where we need that Balance, and depth built up with 1's MUCH improved etc -- to pull out the win. Really good teams are going to be able to scheme around a 4:1 pass ratio like we had today if they have the jimmys and joes - so let's hope that doesn't happen. Bama has some cupcakes (pretty much) to help rectify / work on things coming up - but after a few games we're going to be in a potentially tough spot.

GuessTechSports - I agree, There will be a real gut-check somewhere down the road (my bet is LSU) and we will need to be able to pull off my favorite thing that an offence can do. Don't get me wrong, throwing the ball around and scoring a bunch of points is great fun but is there really anything better than a soul crushing nine minute twenty seven second drive in the middle of the fourth quarter that ends with chip shot field goal to take a nine point lead? Those sixteen play drives where you see their defensive players eyes die and all of the air is sucked out of their sideline as the clock melts away. Yes, oh yes, there will come a time where we will need to be able to do that. Roll Tide Roll
@tidefanyankee24286 жыл бұрын
Yep, Bama was a "run first" team for so many years that other teams don't know how to act now. They can't stack the box and expect to be successful in stopping the Tide anymore. What a nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators. They had a tough enough time when they KNEW what Bama's strength was, now, the Tide can pass....."consistently" as well. But those teams still have to play the Tide honest because of the stable of RB's. The biggest threat I see to the Tide comes from within....complacency. My hope is they don't read their won press clippings about how awesome they are. I console myself over that because of Coach Saban and his staff and their ability to keep the players focused and not let them lose that focus.

I would say I feel sorry for the O line next practice, but I also think they are going to have to man up and grow some cods. They think this defence was good at stopping the run, wait till they play LSU.
