Yay! Finally book 3! Now I've forgotten the details of the other two stories, so will go back and re-listen to them. 😊 What I loved about this story is that the typical misunderstanding doesn't happen between the two main characters. The friction and emotional tension is not between the two of them, and that's very refreshing. Beautiful story and so nice to get the final book in the trilogy! Thanks, Jennie! ❤

This tale way beyond special….to meet in dire straits, behave in utmost propriety only to be scorned by society. The absolute chance to meet/greet, gain knowledge of one another & then constraints. Brilliant outcome…

I started it this morning only got an hour done when I got called away. I’m back now and ready to settle in to a good listen. See you at the end. Almost forgot…thank you so much for a new story. 😊

This author writes wonderfully, interestingly, historically, and with characters that could really be relatives and definitely good enough for a movie. Somebody should do a series of her books on TV on British television. They’re so good. I appreciate them here. I started listening to them while I was doing barn chores and didn’t really care that much what I listen to except these books I find myself going back and listening to the parts I missed. That says something!

How wicked these gossipy hens are. They know who she is. All they have to do is go to the river and there is the proof she nearly drowned and needed rescue. It would serve Mrs Reed right if Christine opened a shop in opposition. I really cheered when Alex told her off but it was hardly an adequate apology. What beautiful wedding gifts they gave each other. Alex seeing the painting was my favourite scene. Are we to get the story of Gus and Sarah? I imagine it would be hilarious.

No :-) The series ends here and I'm on to another series. (Well two - one with a traditional publisher and those won't appear on KZbin) and then my series that starts with A Brilliant Match.

Thank you and 'applause' for what the narrator says at start of book! Such quality with a real human, thanksies, from Belgium! (since i heard Stephen Fry, the amazing man, got really upset that 'someone' stole-used his narration-voice to put on audiobooks... i'm really listening for that, some people have no respect)

A Whimsical Notion is the first in the series with Honoria and Philip. A Stroke of Good Fortune is the second with Philip's cousin Theo and Arabella. And A Presumptuous Hope is third with their mutual friends Gus and Christine Grey.

I have to admit, this book had me mad, all the way through it. Not bc of the writing (good stuff btw) but bc of the forced marriage. Err i was so mad on her behalf
@JennieGoutet3 ай бұрын
I get it. I think it doesn't bother me because I get to create the characters so I can make the perfect match for the "forced" marriages. :-) The one they would have ended up with anyway if they'd had the time and circumstances to bring it about more slowly. In Alex's case, he might have missed out because he was so focused on finding the acceptable wife and not the one he actually needed.
